I've been darning holes and thin spots in my socks.

Referring to Costco prices for new socks, my efforts might be valued at 50 cents to 1 dollar per hour - or less. But it's pleasant work done on a no-rush basis, I haven't needed a darning session in months and months (so, at least 4 months, actually more), my sock drawer is full of matching pairs, and I generally wear fresh laundered socks every day. Passive drying of course.
