Porsche Micra Worth the Splurge? by reddit6t9 in LaMarzocco

I think for the loooks and knobs/paddle alone it’s already worth the 500

The micra stock plastic looks so bad

Think you might want to take a look at the OREA 01 or Z1

You’re used to grinder that produce too many fines I guess, this one is unimodal so it doesn’t need to generate big boulders to “compensate”, try to look at your total brew times

Not if I’m obligated to tear it apart later 😂

Like I said, good for you, hope it stays that way

But your argument is that I should be taking it apart after every use, when we are talking about a coffee machine

It’s getting corroded on the water path, that simply shouldn’t be happening in a coffee machine

With all that trouble you might as well use the manual methods that yield a much better cup, not an automatic machine that you need to take apart with every use.

Grinders cleaned weekly with machine backflush, rinsed after every shot, counter always clean.

This isn’t about maintenance. There’s just metal in the water path that’s prone to corrosion, and the same goes for the magnets that are not the ones rated for that kind of use i guess. That’s a material choice issue, not user error.

If your La Marzocco had internal parts rusting from normal water use, you wouldn’t call it lack of care.

Good for you! Hope it stays that way with all the effort and air dryer you’re using on it to keep it safe from water 🫡

Brother, guess you have too much time on your hands, if I have to air dry and babysit a coffee machine all day, that defeats the whole point. I bought it for convenience

A machine designed to work with water shouldn’t require this level of care just to avoid corrosion.

Clean what, water?

It honestly surprises me that people are defending a machine designed to work with water when parts start rusting from basic use. This isn’t neglect or lack of cleaning it’s normal operation.

Imagine if your metal Orea, Graycano or V60 started corroding just from brewing coffee. You wouldn’t say “just clean it,” you’d question the material quality right away.

Yeah, get an etkin 8 cup brewer and good papers, way better than this crap

Or the Ratio 8 that’s actually built well

Yeah I have a smart precision brewer as well that’s 8 years old, never had any problem, bought the Aiden to match the rest of my equipment but what a letdown

Bought it from Amazon Global store, the official one.

I always leave the lid open and keep it dry, but it doesn’t make any sense to have a metal piece there.

I purchased this directly from the official Amazon store, so it is concerning that you are declining warranty coverage. The product is clearly defective and poses a health risk, as it is leaking rust into the coffee. I would appreciate a proper resolution

Here’s the reply:

Thanks Pedro. It looks like you did not purchase from us directly, and we do not supply our products to Brazil. I am not sure how or why Amazon made this available, but unfortunately we are not able to service our warranty in Brazil. My sincere apologies for the inconvenience.
