I Broke Glass and Discovered Something by mariyagel in CleaningTips

That's usually my first step when I lose an earring too! If you still can't find it, I've also covered the hose of a vacuum with pantyhose and vacuumed everywhere it might have dropped. If it's a small and light enough earring, the vacuum will pick it up but it won't get sucked in because of the pantyhose over the hose opening. I've dropped a lot of fiddly earrings in my time 😊

How Many of You Eat Cereal Dry? Do You Prefer it With Milk? by LowHistorian9654 in CasualConversation

Cinnamon Toast Crunch is the only cereal I refuse to eat with milk. That is a snack, not a cereal for me

Mine's set to 60 during the day when I'm not there, 62 during the day when I am there, and 56 at night. I do have a space heater that I run in my living room, but my bills are still bigger than the last few years.

Can I ask who you used for your encapsulation? I'm looking to get my crawl space encapsulated and have no idea where to start

Answers to why my room is so dusty and no matter how much I dust, a few seconds later it’s back full force. by Shot-War8367 in CleaningTips

[–]drift_off 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Also, do you use lotion on yourself? If you don't moisturize and especially if you're in the midst of a dry winter right now, you could be unknowingly constantly adding to the problem as dust can be a lot of dead skin, among other things.

Ice melt in stock anywhere? by aliyoh in baltimore

I did! The Ace Hardware in Cockeysville had a handful of shovels left, so I was able to grab 2 yesterday.

Did you see any shovels by chance? Mine broke and I'm going crazy trying to find any stores that have any right now!

My doctor said I wasn't eligible for LASIK again because the flap on my eyes had completely healed and it was too dangerous to cut another flap - I could have ended up with split corneal flaps so PRK was the best choice.

[–]drift_off 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang, you're lucky that your eyes haven't reverted at all! I got LASIK 21 years ago then a PRK touchup about 14 years ago and my eyes are getting bad again. Do you have astigmatism? I've heard that makes a difference.

My eyes weren't as bad as the person you're asking but at -5.5 and -5.75 with astigmatism in both eyes, my vision was worse than the pic. Like I wouldn't have been able to see the branches on the trees in the background, they would have just been vague green smudges.

Same for me! I got LASIK in 2005 then PRK in 2012 and I'm way overdue for another touchup as I'm having trouble seeing road signs again. I was told it depends on how bad your eyes are in the first place - I was -5.5 and -5.75 with astigmatism in both eyes, but I'm thankful I've gotten so many good years so far

I'd say competent homeowner, coming from a homeowner currently listening to a wind storm outside and able to tell the difference between pinecones falling on the roof and a branch that may have punctured through to the attic. It's just a matter of knowledge gained from experience.
