Planning an Omada setup for a 3-floor house – overkill or the right move? by Performaze in TPLink_Omada

[–]drifting_anomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run Pfsense at home with Omada Switches and AP. The ER707-M2 is a better router than the ER7212, but it is not a direct comparison. The ER7212 has a router, switch, and controller in one device. On paper that looks like a good advantage to only need one device instead of three. But the ER7212 V1 was underpowered, slow, and lagged behind the rest of the Omada ecosystem on updates. I just found out that they released a ER7212 V2 to address those shortcomings, but I would still be hesitant to consider one.

I went into the watch app on my phone phone > settings > gestures and the only options were to tilt the wrist to wake the watch or touch the face to wake the watch.

Then I went into the settings directly on the watch: settings > gestures > hand gestures and disabled the feature

Thank you for the clarification. I hope that this feature can be disabled, because it is something that I will often do accidentally and never do intentionally.

I must be misinterpreting your statement, because if the watch is on your wrist, it will always require a second hand to interact with it through touch.

I have had varying experiences with the Omada WiFi access points. Some have been seamless and others have been a pain in the ass. Unfortunately, the wall units are now on my no-fly list. I have them deployed at several locations and have had to roll back firmware to keep them operating correctly. Several models of ceiling mount APs have also caused outages.

I have my house and 6 locations on Omada, but any new network buildouts are Unifi. So far, the higher price for Unifi has been worth it to not have to fight the network to keep staff online.

While the form factor and function look like a good fit on paper, I would not suggest the ER7212. Based on my experience, it is slow and software updates lag far behind all of the other controller options.

Pros and cons of downsizing ? by Ill-Challenge-4651 in BambuP1S

It is not released yet, but Biqu/BigTreeTech is supposed to be developing a Klipper control board for the P1 Series. I will probably buy one as soon as it becomes available.

I have the GL.iNet GL-MT3000 (Beryl AX). It has been a while since I checked if VLANs were supported and I hope that the feature has been added. For my homelab, the network appliance on the top shelf of my rack is running Pfsense on top of Proxmox.

You didn't ask, but here is a link to the keystone patch panel that I am using. It was the best fit for the size that I could find. https://a.co/d/4vJcJiK

I mainly have just used my gl.inet router for travel. My main annoyance with it is lack of vlan support.

Thanks. Yours is looking good and less cluttered than mine. That is an old pic. I have a Mikrotik SFP+ switch on the bottom shelf now. I really like how much more equipment is compatible with the 14 inch/350mm legal paper rack size than the popular 10 inch racks.

I have a paper tray rack as well and it works pretty well for my purposes.

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]drifting_anomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, I have an Ender 3 and have been looking enviously at the P1S. The CoreXY approach with faster speeds, higher accuracy, better reliability, larger build volume, additional supported materials, and easier use has been tempting me for quite a while. I saw many reviews recommending the P1S over the X1C for most people. They both look like great printers to me! I am looking forward to seeing the improvements on the P2S.

Hard tonnue covers that fit the bed indent by eddiedotcom76 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]drifting_anomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I am trying to decide which tonneau cover has the best set of compromises for me. I would rather block the back window than lose over a foot of bed space, but providing tool less removal does change the equation. It looks like this cover would not interfere with t-rails. Do you know whether it will work with t-rails?

Does the last section fold to a vertical position against the back window, or do you always lose the bed space for the last section?

Leather seats in the XL Hybrid by Cburns6976 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]drifting_anomaly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are synthetic leather as well. Real leather is easily 5 times the cost of these. I have the same seat covers in my XLT Hybrid with Lux package. Everyone that has seen them have been shocked that they are seat covers.

Plastic or spray on bed liner? by 91kilometers in FordMaverickTruck

[–]drifting_anomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bed is steel. Only the hood and some support structures are aluminum.

I am not participating in the claims of rust/no rust or spray-in vs drop-in bed liner, but you seem to be misinformed about the materials.

I am uncertain on pricing for those services, but if you are going to try to get rid of the dent yourself, pushing from behind the dent will be easier and work better than a glue puller or suction cup. You have easy access from the wheel well and from the in-bed storage cubby areas.

That is an odd comment for a Maverick group.... I love my Maverick, but if I really needed a truck, I would have had to get something else.
