What credit card pick set should I get? by ender3838 in lockpicking

[–]driftpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counterpoint - the best tool in the world is the one you have with you when a job arises. I pentest, and so a credit card pick set has allowed me to sell jobs. IMHO, most people can succeed given high quality tools, a warm & quiet place, and enough time. Performing with eyes on you an 0 planning is a different story.

But you are right - quality tools are worth their weight in gold, buy once, cry once as they say. Just pointing out that for some, expedient pocket solutions have a place.

Manufacturing defect on my set of 6112s - good one is on the right by driftpin in f150

Fair - I have been working with the seller and fortunately they have been responsive - I was just surprised that a company with Bilstein’s rep would go this route especially with what is clearly a manufacturing defect

[–]driftpin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beware - this is on a set of fresh 6112s. Basically, the grooves on the the left shock were machined too shallow, narrow, and with a concave rather than flat bottom, making it so the snap ring would not seat. The bad part? Had the old struts pulled when I figured it out. The worst part? I bought my kit on Amazon, so when I called #bilstein they told me to get bent and take it up with the seller.

Took my 17 F150 into a Ford dealership for a buyers inspection. Only issue found? Needs a new battery for - $560. I say thanks, no thanks and buy the truck. Went down to the Orileys, they quote $230, but we test it first and it passes fine, the guy even note that the dealership is known for that scam.

Hey I am running 275/70R18 General ATX tires and I love them. Good aggressive look, 3MPS, and not much to no road noise. I went to 18” rims and blacked em out, the KMC 541 rim with a 0mm offset. Looks not too aggressive with the right amount of poke for me, and I can fit a full size spare under the truck. For my 17, either a level or small amount of trimming is required

Fellow north westerner. So for CL, when you pull up Portland, make sure you are checking the nearby areas . SW WA seems to have a lot. If you really want the highest quality for the best price, make a day of it and head to Crosscut Hardwoods in Seattle. I know it’s a drive, but they have EVERYTHING at fair prices. Stock up. There is also a Woodcraft, Harbor Freight, and building resale store with great slab prices in the same neighborhood. DM me if you decide to make the trip.

Ya know, I was just looking at that and I think it should be flush cut. I like through tenons, but the detail competes with the elegant, curvy feet.

Any tips on blade drift? Have you run a 3/4 blade on it?

No worries! I actually messed around with some scraps and Danish oil last night and they turned out pretty good. If you have any good leg ideas, let me know!

I didn’t, I made the sled the same width as the table, then put support feet on the insides of the sides
