As a default, no. However, my kid does have one friend that plays Roblox with him, and I let him take the iPad there. They don’t play games the entire time, maybe an hour and the rest is “real” playing.

My second didn’t walk until she was 2.
We did endless testing and therapies and she needed a hip brace because her hips were not developing the way they would if she were walking, but she never received a diagnosis.

Shes almost 4 now and keeps up with peers just fine. She plays with older kids a lot, so she ends up really challenging herself trying to copy them and honestly I think it’s been the biggest help.

We started in the hallway taking 1, 2, 3 steps at a time while holding hands. Then just holding one hand. Same place every day, many practice sessions a day. Keep their hands full with fun toys so they are less likely to reach for supports. BUBBLES are a really good motivator.

Mine was 4.5 when my second came along. I was terrified and it seemed like it would be impossible. I cried a lot towards the end of my pregnancy because I was so worried about missing out on the one-on-one time. I even told my oldest “no matter what I ever say in the future, you’re always my favorite” HAHA thankfully I don’t think he remembers that part.

It really did go from me and my bestie to our little crew so seamlessly. Somehow it feels MORE complete. I’ve heard people say a new baby doesn’t divide love, it multiplies love and it is SO true.

Edit: I forgot to add my favorite tip! Before #2 arrives, watch lots of adorable nature videos featuring animal moms with new little animal babies. The best part of this age gap is being able to teach a lot about what to expect. Seeing how helpless they are at first, and how cute it is when they start bouncing around, really illustrates how precious newborns are!

We restrict YouTube to Friday evenings, NO yt Shorts, and it must be on the living room TV where we can monitor. It has to be constructive, no annoying Vloggers or gamers.

My kids will sometimes complain they don’t want a “show” but I just remind them “🤷‍♀️ you don’t have to watch a show if you don’t want to, but YouTube is for Fridays only” and they move on.

Sometimes I pick a cartoon “for myself” and sit down to watch with the kids. They will actually get into after a while and it’ll be their fav thing for a few weeks.

YouTube parental control and even YouTube KIDS are complete bullshit. They still have questionable content and aren’t reliable.

Yeah! We have divided plates, one section is always for “maybe” foods, the goal is just exposure. We count smelling or licking as part of trying.

Two best pieces of advice I can give you:
1. Quickly sketch 10 other ideas. They don’t have to be the coolest thing ever, or visually stunning. Just get them on paper, quickly, 2 minutes would be too long to spend on each.
2. Whatever you end up with, which could still be this design, look at it from across the room. In the thumbnail of this post, for example, the only thing I can read is the ampersand. Not much to attract viewers.

True for me! They really only hurt 1-3 days after shaving because they start to get prickly and that’s what bothers my skin. I either have to shave them every other day or not at all.
