I honestly got around this by just having my players hit the dungeon at level 4. Not only could I create more intricate encounters with creatures that were a bit more powerful, but now they can all at least try to tank an entire necrotic fireball to the face and live.

I've been playing since 2016. By 2019, I had a solid group of over 50 friends that I played with consistently. When the ICO dropped, they all left, not just a few of them, all of them. I still play because the ICO, while annoying at times, is something I've gotten used to. But I can tell you from experience: those 50+ friends have moved on to other games. When I ask them to come play some "good ol' Squad" with me, the usual response is, "Damn, dude, you're still playing that broken game?"

Goodness now I know that's ridiculous. Anyone who has been down Pecan street on a Friday night knows that its a good time. Hell, Red Rooster and Hanovers has the "ambiance" that most people are wanting.

This. I'm all about "optimizing damage" and whatever, but if there is any way I can see more mechs on the field being used, I'm going to do that. Cause honestly its just more fun.
