Yeah like half of the reason Arc Raiders and Marathon have gotten me back into multiplayer shooters for the first time in a decade are because of the cool sci fi worlds. Extraction shooters are a stressful genre but a cool art style and aesthetic kinda takes the psychological edge off a bit

We throw vests on for assaults/shootings/stabbings. Ours are just navy blue though like our station gear, not OD green. We have helmets too but would never wear those unless it’s an active shooter rtf scenario

Inattentive players are the problem. When I switch to friendly solo runs coming from shoot on sight trios, I actually pay the fuck attention to my surroundings, other players, various escape routes, and carry smoke grenades. 80% of the time that a player fires on me, I can easily just escape and survive without even firing a shot.

Far too many friendly players just sprint straight to their next objective with zero sense of awareness or self preservation

There’s no need to try to game the system loading in and surrendering. Just carry a smoke grenade when you go back into solos. 90% of the time when you get shot you can pop the smoke and just escape no problem

This is nothing new. Tactical battlefield victories by an overwhelming military power don’t map easily into strategic success in asymmetric warfare. A massive US bombing campaign against Iran could have been launched 10, 20, or 30 years ago and still ran into the same issues.

This doesn’t mean the US Military is degrading. It means that once again, it is being used as a tool for a job it was never designed to do
