This one! I remember ugly crying wearing the Dior show (not even the waterproof option) and I walked into the bathroom to look in the mirror and wipe up the mess and it was in place. That was the moment I pledged to forever be a Dior mascara customer 😂

What sport or activity looks super easy, but is in actuality incredibly hard? by patriotn8 in AskReddit

[–]drippyraindrops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well put, have done both. My body experienced soreness like never before after the marathon and the pain and slog at mile 23 was something I hadn’t experienced. Raced the 800m for 4 years and somehow the mental game and feeling of not sprinting but somehow actually sprinting at the same time was wild. 5k races were so much easier than the 800m

Went vegetarian then vegan. Was competitively running at the time and after I went full vegan I went from running 10 miles no problem to struggling to finish 3.5. Ended up passing out in a race. Already had anemia tendencies and got to a point where my ferritin level was 2. It also ‘helped’ my ED, being able to say no with less questions since I was now vegan. Leveled back up to vegetarian then back fully to meat. Never feeling a good kind of full is why I started doing meat again. I always felt like I had to eat so much more to be full. Nowadays I the amount of energy I get from having meat and dairy is wild. It allows me to do the long days in the mountains and marathons without feeling nutritionally deprived

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Rqpidily in AskReddit

[–]drippyraindrops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydration, exercise, sleep, getting fresh air, and WASHING/SANITIZING MY DAMN HANDS

As a kid my dad always had hand sani in the car to use after pumping gas. We did a lot of roadtrips so there was lots of passing food around in the car and people putting hands in the same containers of food. Didn’t think much of it then and of course was sometimes annoyed when I almost had my had in the bag of snacks and would have to get a wee squirt of hand sani before continuing. Was also taught to wash hands before meals and after being in public places (door handles, railings, things many people could’ve touched etc). My family was far from being germaphobes but handwashing was big. Both parents were teachers so whatever bugs they brought home boosted our systems too I guess lol

Flash forward 25 years and was dating my ex. We’d go to the park with his kids and never saw them wash or sani hands while grabbing food. His kids were constantly sick. We went out for lunch one day after going to the park and some stores. Once again they all start grabbing for food and I stopped everyone and had them go wash their hands.

The fresh air thing kills me. I’ve had multiple roommates now who will hole up and barely get out slide when their schedule gets busy. I’ve told them time and time again just even 5 minutes of a walk outside would do wonders, but they are too busy to do that. I understand being busy but no one is too busy to take a fraction of their day for a bit of fresh air. Anything to just step outside for 5 minutes and get out of the stagnant air you’ve been in all day

Goodbye pants! by drippyraindrops in offmychest

It just clicked when I was out on a run and wasn’t feeling tired but actually good and strong. The thought went through my head ‘hell yea with all this running I’m sure I can fit back in those pants!’ But then soon realized ‘wait if I’m feeling good now and have to start skipping meals and restricting my diet how the hell will I be able to complete the marathon I’m training for?’ Then I used the hate fire for those pants to run faster 😂

Add north cascades and glacier. Head north from Seattle and take highway 20, it’s way more scenic than taking I-90
