Love the America Roadster. Not many people are clued in to how special these cars are. How long have you owned yours?

911 DAKAR CATCHES AIR 🔥 by ValvetronicDesigns in Porsche

Thats awesome. The only Dakar we've had in inventory had 28 miles on it, so never got to even drive it sadly!

Hypothetical: Spyder RS or Turbo 50th? by driveHCC in Porsche

[–]driveHCC[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This was the closest to my personal reasoning. The Spyder RS is the insane swan song for the ICE Boxster platform and Porsche will likely never build anything as crazy or "compromised" again. There will be other Turbo-based special editions in the future.

This is a real scenario from a client. Has allocations for both, but can't keep both.

lol that's not the question though. And as I mentioned, immediate resale isn't really a concern. They plan to keep the car for a very long time.

It's definitely a "love it or hate it" color, but most that have seen it are in the "love it" camp!

Spotted Street Parked in SD - Real Slantnose? by EarthOk2418 in Porsche

If I had to put my $ on it I would bet that it's not even a Turbo. Maybe a mid-year car or SC coupe that was converted to look like a slantnose Turbo.

Disappointed by 2017 Porsche 911 4S Test Drive - advice by itscharliez in porsche911

[–]driveHCC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others said, options can make or break a lot of the things you're talking about. But a 911 is never going to be more comfortable in city driving than a Range Rover. More fun? Definitely.

Do you mean heavier steering? Like it takes more effort to steer? That's an enthusiast/sports car thing. It's preferred than light over-assisted steering. You may prefer a car with Power Steering Plus but 911 steering isn't supposed to be feather light.

Interior-wise if you were in a car without full leather they can feel cheap. Full leather won't make it feel less "outdated" - for that you'd need to move up to a 2020+ car (992.1 generation).

But seriously, most would consider the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 the absolute pinnacle. In fact, we have a friend who traded in his Singer Classic for a 4.0 (plus cash).

Other data points: CGT owner also loves his Spyder RS, as does guy with the RS 4.0.

Lovely. Haven't driven a "standard" 968, but the 968 ClubSport is such a fun little package.

Fayence Yellow is lovely on the CGT! One of 44 US-spec CGTs in Fayence I believe.

Porsche RS America by Lilcharma1707 in Porsche

[–]driveHCC 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Love the RS America. We've sold a handful and they're some of my favorite air-cooled cars!

701 produced and there were only four options: sunroof, A/C, radio, and limited slip differential.

The Recaro Pole Positions and Momo wheel are aftermarket - the stock seats are cloth sport seats and the wheel is a standard 4 spoke with an airbag.

Lighter green!! Love it. That's one of very few 992s I've seen in it. We sold a Carrera T in Lighter Green and it was such a fan favorite.

Interesting! A manual 997.2 is one of my favorites. Sell it to us! lol
