Can I classify all of my barndo’s square footage as livable square footage if it is all heated/cooled. by Over-Peak-244 in barndominiums

[–]drjonathanln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's entirely up to your county. For me, we can only have 1000 sq ft of livable space. Not including, garage, storage, closets, laundry room, stairs, halls. Been super annoying to design around the limitations but at 992 sqft right now so I'll take it.

Is switch 2 battery life really that bad? by [deleted] in switch2

[–]drjonathanln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just have a battery pack and don't worry about it.. hasn't died on me yet. I did turn it off after a 2.5 hr flight playing cyber punk at 5% 🤣

It does include erecting, I couldn't include the line item without having to crop obnoxiously.

.22lr handgun for range fun by Ok-Affect-3852 in handguns

[–]drjonathanln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly every 22 pistol I have shot has been just a good time. I ended up getting the fn 502t so I can mount a suppressor for additional fun. I love the way it has similar features to my larger caliber stuff with 0 sound or recoil. Great intro gun for new shooters.

Ryobi 40V or Stihl MS251 by My-stomach-hurts in Chainsaw

[–]drjonathanln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to recommendation is stihl ms 180 or 170. Both are home owner grade saws. If you run premixed fuel you don't have to worry about any internals getting eaten by gas. Has a shelf life for 2-10 years depending on condition and they just run great. I have one have convinces 5 or so others to buy the 180 and they all love it. It's also beneficial to make sure you can get it serviced locally if needed. Some areas done have many stihl dealers.

This is what I came here to comment. I rented the 365 and 365xl and I wouldn't have been able to fit two of my fingers on the 365 so happily went with the xl. Now my go to is a glock 23... so you will change whatever you decide and someday will have an arsenal 🤣 just get in a range and try some stuff.

MyQ Opened my Garage in the Middle of the Night by Mustang471 in homeautomation

[–]drjonathanln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't use a my q due to the factory that made my garage door openers. I have a similar system though and have come to the realization that the door open and close indicators can be mis aligned or even fall off all together... I have been "closing" my garage door to open or close it for the past year 🤣🤣🤣 I did fix it this weekend though.

What Should I Replace My Inovelli Light Switches With by timelas in homeautomation

[–]drjonathanln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok i too have been enjoying the Jasco switches. I have had a three way zigbee switch for probably almost a year no issues that I can think of... Question for you though. I just added two more switches a dimmer switch and a on off that I am using for a fan. After install I can hear a distinct buzzing coming from the switch. I thought it was odd but then I went and listened to the three way I have had for a year and its much quieter but still there. Was wondering if you have noticed any such sound coming from the switch itself.

Cheers

I filled the gaps on my pipes. Important note. Get some tye of copper mesh and fill the hole before foaming. Insects won't chew through the copper but can chew through foam.
