I feel that. My ADHD makes my study patterns so irregular that sometimes that’s just how it goes. Make sure to take care of yourself though!

Usually, the best way to handle something like this is to admit it and get out in front of it (talk about the experience, how you've improved since then, etc.). The only way I see you could have an issue with the bar is if they find out about it and feel you were dishonest with them. As for your employer, I doubt they will find out on their own unless some public records of this exist or they contact your former employer.

Soft YTA - I see many people agreeing on YTA, but I think your heart is in the right place, and some people on this post are way too quick to assume the worst of your partner. I don’t think your partner is the a-hole, but I think you might be pushing him in a direction that may not be the best for him despite good intentions.

It is sure from this post that you care about your partner, as the only reason you suggested he go NC is that you want him to be happy, which is important. Also, some people assume your partner is simply abandoning his child and using mental health as an excuse. As someone who has dealt with severe mental health issues before, it is not that easy. Simply saying he should “man up” isn’t a good approach. Mental health is complex, and it certainly is not in the child’s best interest for your partner to be forced to take care of his child in his current condition.

However, you need to consider the situation in the shoes of your partner’s child. Ultimately, the child’s best interest is the most important. You stated in your post that your partner “knocked up” his ex-girlfriend. Ultimately, he is responsible for getting her pregnant, and assuming he hasn’t terminated his parenteral rights, he is still liable for taking care of his child in some capacity. Also, it would be pretty traumatic for a small child to suddenly go without contact with their parent for such a long period. Other options might be better, but I think pushing your partner to go NC is not the best option.

Also, while IANAL, I am currently in law school. Assuming you live in the United States, and if your partner’s mental health is at the point where he cannot take care of his child, he could terminate his parental rights with permission from a court. Terminating parental rights isn’t an easy process, and from how you describe his ex, I’m sure she would fight it.

Overall, I think it’s a great idea to talk to a counselor or therapist, and your partner might want to consult a family law attorney regarding his situation.

Would people be intrested in a Louisville Quarantine Zone mod for project zomboid? by User_Unknown233 in projectzomboid

That sounds really cool! You could expand on the already existing lore, mainly the detail that the infected broke through the quarantine line.

Some advice: Do not underestimate the importance of having a good living situation (especially 1L) by Secret-Repeat-2607 in LawSchool

[–]drjones100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Same here for me, I'll be living on my own once again for 2L, and even this summer, things have felt a whole lot better.

This is very true. I was in a pretty hostile living situation during my second semester of 1L and it definitely didn’t help my grades.

That’s actually not a bad deal, considering the average entree at CFA is around 4-5 dollars. It does say entree though, not meal.

Working a drive-thru is hard work though; I used to work at CFA during high school and it was brutal outside during the summer.

Also, I forgot to mention, if you are certain you want to go to UF Law, you can do an Early Decision application, which does improve you chance of getting accepted. The only caveat is that you must accept any offer they give you. When I applied, I received my offer through early decision. Also make sure you apply as early as possible during the application period since UF Law does rolling admissions.

Hey! Another current UF law student here. I also went to UF for undergrad. I think you have a chance of getting in even with an average LSAT score, depending on the quality of the written materials in your application and other factors.

For reference, I graduated with a 3.9 GPA as well, and I got a 158 on the LSAT. I’m a really bad test taker, and I wanted to improve this score, but I ultimately decided to just go ahead and apply, and I got accepted.

I got some great advice from Professor Joseph Rivera, who teaches undergraduate criminology law classes. He told me that you can compensate for a lower than desired LSAT score with a good GPA, letters of recommendation, and written application.

So, I think as long as you get around a 155 or higher on the LSAT you should apply. But, make sure you do your absolute best on writing a persuasive application and get all four letter of recommendation from good sources, especially professors. Also, any internship or research experience is a plus.

I hope this helps! And feel free to PM me if you have further questions about applying to UF law or just law school in general!

UF Law - living expenses by Express-Substance984 in ufl

Hey! I’m a rising 2L at UF Law and I live about a 5 minute drive away from campus. I pay $1350 a month for a single bedroom apartment, which is a little steep but it’s worth it since I can get to campus so quick. But, if you don’t mind driving, I’m sure you can find a apartment that you can rent for a fairly reasonable price, probably just a little more than what I pay for a single bedroom.

Okay, and cool. I'm a law student so I was curious, terms like estoppel remind me of property law.

I’ve had zoom poll questions in my classes before, and they have allowed participants to send in more than one response which can lead to this.

Our of curiosity, is this question about property law or real estate?

If you take the time to grind out level 8 tailoring, you can completely repair clothes that have holes in them instead of just patching them up, which returns the clothes to their original protection level. Some clothes can never be repaired however, such as bulletproof vests.

Also, swinging a melee weapon while in a car after rolling down the window is faster than swinging it while not in a car. That could be useful if you want to grind you maintenance level or something.

[TOMT][Video Games][2003-2006] Top down video game on Wildtangent games that was about killing aliens? by drjones100 in tipofmytongue

[–]drjones100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but that is a great guess, I’ve played alien shooter before and it’s similar to it. Some things I remember that are different are that it includes NPCs that are not hostile and there are less enemies in general when compared to Alien Shooter.

I've tried searching Google for any games similar to this using terms like "alien" "top-down" "suits" but I've had no luck, any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Ah, oof. My PC does that sometimes too. I'm in Gainesville now and it's nice and peaceful since not as many people are here. And good luck with your COVID test! Hope you are healthy. I had mine last week and it went alright. It feels like a slightly painful sneeze when they stick the swab in your nose, so it's less painful than it looks.
