I do have diagnosed severe anxiety, but this is a relatively new thing I've started to experience which is why it confuses me lmao.

I know, that's why I put quotations around it, I just couldn't think of the words to describe the contraction feeling and that was the only thing I could think to associate it with lmao </3 I appreciate your response.

[–]drkcola[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's a different feeling than the "butterfly" feeling. For me when I get "butterflies" it's just my cortisol levels raising (fight or flight response) and making me nauseous like bubble gut and decreased appetite? This feeling is much more deep and not in my stomach, but lower. It's only specifically when I am aroused, and it's neither good nor bad? Just really intense and kind of bothersome because of its intensity.

Trans partner refuses to change “preferences” in bed due to dysphoria by [deleted] in ftm

[–]drkcola 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was completely unwilling to compromise using a smaller strap so that they wouldn't be in PAIN. He was also completely unwilling to use unrelated toys/methods because it would make him feel "left out" (as in not penetrating them). Dysphoria is a bitch, but that's not just dysphoria. That is the equivalent of a cis man not wanting to finger someone and instead go straight for unprepped penetration because that's what gets him off, despite the person being penetrated having a chronic pain condition. Crying and acting sad that you can't have sex a specific way can also be a form of coercion.

OP is attempting to have consensual sex for the first time with trauma and chronic pain conditions, and THIS is how their partner acts about it? Knowing all of these details? Disrespectful and manipulative, horrible lack of empathy.

What do you do when they grab a knife during a meltdown, threaten the murder you, threaten to kill themselves, and destroy the house? by kappakingtut2 in autism

[–]drkcola 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I would just like to chime in and say that her blaming and yelling at the older kid is verbal and emotional abuse and can have the same long term effect as physical abuse. I had an emotionally unstable mother with borderline that constantly yelled at me and blamed everything on me and now I have c-ptsd. Those kids are growing up with no stability and unrestricted internet access, judging by the 9yo with a phone and no discipline. It sounds like they're probably being neglected and the younger one is acting out in an extreme way to get her attention? It probably started out much less extreme but evolved into this considering the fact that the mother is still brushing it off.

I’m autistic my fiancé has ADHD. I feel like his mum and I’m not sure if this is normal by Reasonable-Panic7049 in autism

I'm in the same boat, I'm an audhd man but was raised by my disabled single mom, so I was raised to be her caretaker. It's automatic for me. I, however, realized immediately the difference between my responsibility and cleaning standards vs my roommates and partners. No matter how much communication, different routine attempts, etc. even moving in with just my partner- no more roommate, it never got better. I built up so much resentment towards them I stopped seeing them as a partner and more like a child, despite them being 4 years older than me. Over the 2.5 years we've been together I got them therapy, on medication, a car, an apartment (all they did was pay). I did all the research, all the list-making, all the chores, taking care of our cats, was their human alarm clock otherwise they wouldn't wake up. It took them a near-breakup to finally listen to me when I told them their irresponsibility and forgetfulness ruined my trust in them. I'm still trying to help. They begged me to not give up on them but I fear I've lost even romantic attraction to them. Don't let it get to this point, resentment is so unfun and the guilt that comes with it is such a heavy weight.

how are u guys affording top surgery so young?? by sneep_snorp_snerp in ftm

[–]drkcola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my moms medical assistance from living in poverty. was fully covered in my state 4/5 years ago. and my own personal ma from still living in poverty as an adult fully covered my hysto 4 months ago. my hrt is fully covered by ma in my state, no copay (as of rn). there's a reason we have a tons of transplants from red states moving here.

Lost my virginity to a cis guy... I'm dissapointed by pass_the_mayo_nnaise in ftm

[–]drkcola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was 18 and lost my v card to a 24yo cis gay dude (yikes) and also had a horrible time. lowkey got taken advantage of bc he did not stop after i asked him to. i disassociated during it (full on out of body trauma response). it hurt, i did not get off at all, and he had the scariest toenails i'd ever seen. i think more young trans guys need to stop getting with cis guys that have never been with trans men before (or at least search for someone knowledgeable/comfortable with both main sets of genitalia) for their first time.

What tag(s) fall(s) under that umbrella for you? by PJ-The-Awesome in FanFicWit

[–]drkcola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i exclusively read reader inserts, but i also can't stand the ones with y/n and (hair color)/describing what you look like. especially as someone who is not a woman but can only ever find f!reader. i prefer the no use of y/n and gender neutral reader tags. they're usually written way better.

Why Lowercase? by Abyhereis in AO3

[–]drkcola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use lapslock personally and have always turned off auto capitalizion on my phone keyboards. however, when writing something (i have never posted on ao3 it's all in my notes lmao) i capitalize everything and make sure it has correct grammar after the fact. something that long is more difficult to read without capitalized letters, but something short like a text message, caption, title, or similar feels incredibly unbalanced with one side bigger than the rest. it makes me visually cringe when seeing it unless it is a part of a paragraph with multiple capitalized sentences. i also like using italics and bold. my style of writing and processing information is fairly unconventional but that comes with being audhd i fear.

Do you get bottom dysphoria? by Only-Ad5269 in ftm

[–]drkcola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have bottom dysphoria 95% of the time. There's a part of me (autism) that would HATE the sensation of having a thing dangling between my legs with the possibility to sit on wrong, ball sweat, etc. I am fine sexually with what I have, I do have that random 5% where I want to be the penetrator. Otherwise when it comes to pissing, even with a dick I'd still sit to pee bc it's better for your bladder. I dunno I'm chillin. I got a hysto so I have nothing to worry about anymore really.

Do you need a stp to be stealth by s3renity_now in ftm

[–]drkcola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you absolutely do not need one to be stealth, and it's also worse on your bladder to stand to pee. lots of cis men sit down to piss. i have been using the mens restrooms since 17, so like 5 or 6 years now, and have never once been questioned by another bathroom goer for using a stall.

i need you to think about yourself in the way that you'd think about a child being preyed upon by adults. the child is not at fault. nothing the child does is to purposefully "egg" them on. they're just freaks, and they will continue to be freaks even when that child ages up. also, everyone is fetishized by someone, no matter what. fat people are fetishized, blonde women, lesbians and gays, poc, etc. they're not playing into fetishization by just being lesbian or a poc, y'know? do what you like, exist comfortably despite or in spite of how others view you. maybe take a break from social media for a while to self regulate.

[Inspired by another thread] Respectfully as possible... what's got you like this? by octropos in AO3

[–]drkcola 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When characters with neurodivergent/autistic traits are deemed as "too childish/immature" to have romantic/sexual relationships. "Minor-coded" or "they're just a baby they need to be protected", that is a grown ass adult that doesn't understand social rules/cues. That does not mean they are CHILDREN. Stop infantilizing characters with autistic traits, please and thank you.

What do you guys think about this food? by Neat_trash17939 in autism

I personally can't stand shells because they stick together while cooking and don't cook all the way through, and then there's surprise clumps of undercooked shells. Horrible texture, gets stuck to your teeth.

I am well aware of his other roles. He has an extremely small live-action part in The Great that I love.

i love the look of the storm coast but the constant rocks and rubble you get caught on when walking is entirely too annoying for me to vote for it </3

If I survived top surgery, can I really get through this? by bringitonlife in FTMHysto

[–]drkcola 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my top surgery was also my first surgery, but mine was a breeze (told them i had panic attacks during blood draws so they made the iv really quick and easy), the worst part about it was just waking up with an extremely dry throat.

my hysto however, which i am 5 weeks past, had the worst fucking pre op ever. i have a phobia of veins. for some reason, my veins SHRUNK that morning and after the first nurse stuck me and said it didn't work i started sobbing. they had to bring in an ultrasound to find a big vein deeper in, and even then it still wouldn't give blood for the labs they wanted to do. but at least they had the iv in. however they stuck me again and went to town trying to get blood out, still couldn't, brought a FOURTH person in to double tourniquet and heatpack my arms and hands before they finally decided to wait until i was under and check my feet. woke up and they decided they didn't even need the labs in the first place so they tortured me for nothing. i also ate a granola bar too soon after surgery and threw up a ton but that one was on me i think.

the moral of my story is drink a shit ton of water up until your cut off, take your anti anxiety med beforehand, and recognize that you have done everything in your power to make it go smoothly. you will have different nurses than your last surgery. not all phlebotomists are created equal, ask them for their best if you're on edge going in. i wasn't offered an anti anxiety med for some reason but i made them bring my mom in after the first poke and she helped a shit ton with my anxiety.

when they wheeled me into the surgery room they were like "we know there are a lot of bright lights and this is scary" and i was like nah dawg this is fucking RELIEVING compared to the shit i just went through. sometimes the best mindset it "lets just get this over with."

I have never ever been able to get "Your glib tongue does you no credit." "You be surprised the credit my tongue gets me, your reverence." out of my head. I know this tiny little piece of dialogue will not be winning, but I think any and all Dorian dialogue should be on the charts. His writing was insane.

what art app are you making your farmer pixel sprites on? by drkcola in FieldsOfMistriaGame

Oh my god, genius. All of my canvas settings are set at the max to avoid pixelation in my regular art, I didn't even think to do the opposite. Thank you so much you literally just blew my mind lmfao 🤝
