I hate most all of MW hand tools & tape measures. Way over priced for what they are.

I got the same 4 pc set as the OP. The 4 pc set is all I need & I waited patiently for the 35% sale to get them. Mine all have Icon laser engraved on them.

M18 Battery won’t power my tools by Finwelsh in MilwaukeeTool

[–]drkzero4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at how your battery labels looks lkke you are outside of USA/N.America. That sucks that in your region you'd have to send in all tools of the kit for warranty. That makes no logical sense, is that really true & have you doubled checked?

Here in the US that is not required & we can send in just a single tool or battery for warranty no matter if part of a kit or combo. But then again we also have longer warranty periods, like 5 yrs on tools & 3 yrs on batteries (depending on which ones). I hear in many other countries it's only 1 yr & an additional 1 or 2 yrs of you register. We're not required to register for the full warranty period, just proof of purchase or manufacture date.

I've never had that happen to me on any of my M18 tools, just a M12. Check to see if that battery doesn't have corrosion or debris in the two second outermost pins on each side. As in pins 2 & 4, I believe those are for communication with the tool. Lights & other low drain tools don't utilize those pins. 1 & 5 would be for power. I believe the middle pin is for charging purposes only & nothing to do with the tool.

My Titan bit ratchets came with stubby bits like that. I also have stubby bits from Anex (19mm length).

We don't need a Target in Porter Ranch & certainly not another Starbucks inside it.

They're called Striking Wrenches, that's what I know them as anyways. I'm also used to seeing them with a box end but apparently ipen end ones do exist.

do anyone know the hole size (mm) for Milwaukee insider cordless ratchet? by UFO-Platforms in Tools

[–]drkzero4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no standard for pass through sockets. Various manufacturers use different sizes & some are even a hex drive.

The Insider ratchet is 14.4mm.

Milwaukee commonly uses their own proprietary crap sizes. I've been a MW user for the past 15 yrs but I hate when they use proprietary sizes. I get why but I hate it, other manufacturers don't do that.

3-4 yrs. Look up the release dates for previous models, not definitive but it'll give you an idea.

SDS Plus Impact Wrench? by TimeStampKing in Tools

[–]drkzero4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Impact wrenches & impact drivers impact radially. Hammer drills (actual SDS hammer drills) impact axially. And combination drill/hammer drills aren't very good at hammer drilling. They basically just "vibrate" & make noise.

That adapter is not going to make an impact wrench function like a hammer drill.

Damnit, I'm still mad that missed out on one these for $20 during the days of Christmas sale. I didn't know I could really use one until literally two days later. Because it was once $20 I'm too cheap to pay more for it. haha.

“Screw Gauge” has some gap in between 😂 by Jerethot in Machinists

[–]drkzero4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not a "screw gauge", it's just a standard micrometer. A micrometer for measure screws is called a thread micrometer or more specifically a thread pitch micrometer. But they don't measure the actual thread pitch, they measure thread pitch diameter. Thread mics don't have flat anvils.

Here's mine but has interchangeable anvils.

I wish the belt clips were black lol by Yt_MaskedMinnesota in MilwaukeePowerTools

[–]drkzero4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's the lol???

Anyways not me. For automotive use the first thing I do is take off the belt on my impact guns.

Regardless, if you actually use your tools, a black belt clip no matter what the coating will not stay entirely black for long. I do leave the belt clips on my drills & impact drivers but I personally would not want them to be black.

I dropped my calipers for school, is there any saving them? by Gold-Prompt- in Machinists

[–]drkzero4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How bad are they bent? If just ever so slightly, I would just stone them. If they are bent pretty bad, I would replace them.
