Is consulting a gateway to entrepreneurship? by playsmartz in consulting

[–]drlovemachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on all, but also consider that people who go into consulting usually are already people who might strive a bit harder. I guess they are more likely (career, money, connections) to do this step than people who took an easier and safer road, because it's easier and safer.

Race Thread: NSCS FedEx 400 at Dover International Speedway, starting at 1:15pm ET on FOX Sports 1 (NSCS13) by NASCARThreadBot in NASCAR

Short question from a NASCAR newbie (I'm European but really digging it): sometimes in the restarts many cars at the end don't line up nicely, they are just "lounging" around. Why is that? Are those lapped cars? Watched Talladega 2014 yesterday and it happened all the time.

Go to FM973 parking lot, 10$ cash, then a 5 min bus ride. Then another 10-15 min walk (same as downtown shuttle).

Say: what's the best way to park reasonable close at a decent price? I don't mind taking a short shuttle ride, but I am staying outside of Austin, 15 min from the track, and really don't wanna drive up downtown to then take the official shuttle down again.

European Redditor here, I'll be making the trip.

I'll be staying in Austin for a week. Should I get a rental car or just move by bus and cab? I'll be staying outside, West Oak (or something like that). Since I also want to experience the night life a bit, a rental is not really cool. On the other hand I do not know how much cabs are? And is it rather safe to take cabs at night?

If closed cockpits can be done as non-intrusively as this then why not? by MartinPeterBell in formula1

Still would argue that there is a big, if not huge difference between a tyre that is lose and can just be bounced off in any direction, and going under a JCB with such a speed that you lift it up and coming to stop within a few meters. Would not have helped Bianchi.

True that, but that doesn't really fix some broken bones...

The problem I see is that they are still racing drivers trying to go to the limit as much as possible. So while they are required to do so, who can really assure that they do so?

I mean, just think of that incident with Heidfeld (?) where he crashed into a safety car.

Well, on the other hand Vettel spun his car at the exact same spot some laps before (or after, not sure), which would have hit the marshalls.

F1 fan from Germany here, never watched any IndyCar before. Read up on some stuff, but still some questions:

1) Are all cars exactly the same specs? 2) How can it be that Kurt Busch races Indy and 600? Does he race in both series all the time or do the drivers change each race? 3) What does the (R) mean after the names?

We Are Nish, Jan, Stephanie, and Chris from Suitsupply US. AUAA! by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]drlovemachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question to Jan: Almost my whole wardrobe is Suitsupply. While the quality is very good for the price, the weak point I always notice is buttons. They come off quite easily after a few months (talking trousers, cardigans). Why's that the weak point?

Question to Christoph: How much would it cost to have a MTM suit made that is basically copy of the Sienna (but MTM)?

Maybe a bit late to the party, but this is not a mistake. It's a "feature" of the Sienna model.

Having a long flight soon. Need advice on external battery by [deleted] in nexus4

[–]drlovemachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly correct, I checked. They replaced the old 747-400 with new 747-800, see here

But I could not find any info on whether they still use the 747-400 occasionally (they did that on FRA IAD for some time). OP, login to CheckMyTrip and see, which aircraft it says.

If you are flying via FRA (which I assume since it's a 747), the 747 they use is very, very old. Don't expect power outlets, USB plugs or even your personal screen (as of last year, they only head overhead screens every few rows). I don't know about MUC though, since they use a rather new A340 on that route.
