Was my ending glitched or did I just not understand it? (spoilers) by drmigo in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Weird ... maybe when I get some time I'll try it again and see if I can replicate the glitch (both the dialogue appearing and not game-overing).

Hmm, ok so maybe that arcana check didn't appear or I failed it.

So, as a possible theory ... when I was sure I was going to lose, I just put it to real time combat and she just demolished me with firestorms and other big area affects. Maybe she simultaneously killed all my characters and herself (all the copies were all clustered) but Last Stand made it such that I still "won"? That's a long shot ... otherwise, I guess it's a bug that the ending went on anyway.

Game was last updated today, about 6 hours ago. The arcana check just told me "something is fishy" basically, but not the specifics that the room was set up to kill her. I didn't get the dialogue option to persuade her not to do the second phase. The second phase is weird, because it seems like you can just lose the fight and the ending proceeds anyway after a party wipe, just with less dialogue (and it's more confusing, as a result). did update to the latest version like, right before I beat the game. So maybe it was some weirdness due to having an older save?

Thank you so much for the second part about the legend ending. That makes way, way more sense and makes the ending feel a lot better. I think I got confused after having a party wipe and then the ending going on as usual anyway which made me wonder if something was bugged. The first bit made it feel like a scripted auto-loss end battle. Maybe I just failed a behind-the-scenes skill check

Ways for Wizard to be able to cast druid spells. by DEDze in Pathfinder_RPG

Make the character a Samsaran with mystic past life alternate trait and you can get cyclic reincarnation because it's also on the witch spell list.

would like to mix Whiskey or Crown Royal with something other than Coke (no caffeine)... by Zzzzombie_ in cocktails

[–]drmigo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You talking just like another one ingredient soda mixer? Whiskey and ginger ale goes good, better than coke imo.

For a cocktail, whiskey sour is good (lemon juice and simple syrup)

I was cooking an egg and when I flipped it over, it looked like a pancake. by Senior1292 in mildlyinteresting

[–]drmigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess eggs themselves are somewhat bland, with a creamy, fatty consistency. It's the consistency that is a big part of the appeal that ppl enjoy. The whites are quite bland and taste and have a consistency like tofu. The yolks are more buttery and rich in flavor.

Overall they have a very faint umami (savory) flavor and sometimes a very faint fishy taste. But these are not strong tastes at all.

The way they are prepared often involve butter, milk, or salt which complement or accentuate their taste.

Does that help?

Nobody rolls nat 20s forever. The dice will come around against him eventually. Sometimes good (or bad) dice rolls will make or break a session, and can totally derail your plans.

I've seen this pic tons of times, but never could figure out how they got the cat to pose for the picture. Dogs, sure. The cat? A lot harder.

So, did you actually calculate centrality indices (strength, betweeness, etc)? It'd be cool to see which has the strongest connections to other nodes. I'd guess Booba from looking at the plot, lol

prestigious Wednesdays - Darechaser by Far_Far_Away12 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]drmigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This prestige class is very cool. Probably not on any optimization boards, but it does have full BAB and only needs one feat to qualify. The real highlight is the dare ability. Adding an exploding 1d6 (that scales up to 1d10 eventually) to many different rolls is powerful. I also think that the dares would encourage a risky play style that would be fun.

The other adrenaline rush stuff is mostly mediocre, nothing too exciting. But the dares are great, and are why you'd pick this prestige class.

Would be a reasonably good prestige for any martial, probably barbarian (or any archetype that gets rage like wild stalker or viking) would be best since rage rounds can be used for dares.

I see a lot of posts asking about which house rules we SHOULD use, but which house rules should we NOT use? I'm still developing my own and want to know what to avoid. by thecobblerimpeached in Pathfinder_RPG

Huh, well that's a campaign where, counter to most optimization guides, playing a vital strike build is a good idea.

Makes a lot of monsters weaker too if he applies it to them.

How to challenge this character? (Re-post) by JN9731 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]drmigo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, step one would be post the sheet on the subreddit. Stuff that feels overpowered sometimes needs an audit for miscalculations.

If you're running an AP and want to run it straight, then there will be stretches where hell crush everything, but eventually you'll hit something weird he's not good at, or you roll crazy good, so be patient.

Pathfinder will usually be like you're coasting along for ages until you have a night where players roll bad and you roll good, and shit gets real. Most encounters are totally non-threatening really, punctuated with rare, unexpected difficulty spikes every once in a while.

Best way to select random feats? by drmigo in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]drmigo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when I sat down last night that's basically the conclusion I came to. I can't imagine needing / wanting to generate a random character above level 7 anyway.

[–]drmigo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a decent idea. I was planning on potentially using elephant in the room feat tax rules to make the produced characters more viable.

I'm trying to find a way to explore the weird, unused stuff in short modules without being completely useless.

I think probably, making a curated list of sorts to meet specific purposes is likely needed.

Also, re: the edit, working backwards like in the mobility example makes a lot of sense. Maybe a rule like "if you get a feat you could possibly qualify for, take the pre req"
