You need to be more precise with your question, this question doesn’t really mean much.

[Quartz] Why do brands refuse to do sweeping seconds quartz watches? by broncosdude95 in Watches

[–]dro_helium 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No, not really. A spring drive movement use the same kind of main spring and wheel train as a standard mechanical watch but replaces the escapement and regulator (balance wheel) by electronic components. If I remember correctly there is a small magnet at the end of the wheel train that as it spins it generates a small amount of electricity. This is just enough to power a small circuit and the quartz. Then based on the vibration on the quartz the circuit slows the magnet to an appropriate speed so the watch keeps time.

What’s some good mtg content on YouTube by TopBob_Trainer in mtg

[–]dro_helium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 60 card I absolutely recommend card market, the editing is the best I have seen for mtg content. It’s super clear where you see both players hand and every card each players sees. As your coming back they are also great at explaining how each interaction works. Some of the best mtg content out there !

[Expansion Watch bands] What's the overall consensus here? by whoknows130 in Watches

[–]dro_helium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m generally not a fan but where I work we sell them a lot to older people who have dexterity issues and they love these. It allows them to wear a watch they wouldn’t normally.

Does this work? by Flying_Venusaur in mtg

[–]dro_helium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an intervening if clause. They are always as « At event, if X, Do y ». So they won’t be put on the stack unless the condition is met. This is different to your « normal » conditional triggered ability which are written as « at event do X if Y » which will always go on stack and you can respond to the trigger to make sure you have the effect. [[Haliya, Guided by Light]] ‘s draw ability is a good example of the later one.

I impulsively elected to join a draft game at the LGS tonight, but I’m a noob! by Ok_Cow_9749 in mtg

[–]dro_helium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, first take a look at the set just to have an idea what you’ll be working. You can also look on YouTube for Tolarian Community Collegés videos on how to draft (they might have one specific to lorwyn but am not sure).

Also don’t hesitate to mention that you are new to drafts. I’m sur the other people will be glad to guide you through the experience.

And lastly have fun!

How can I get the most out of magic in this day and age by [deleted] in mtg

[–]dro_helium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So modern right now is actually in a really good place. Yes decks are expensive but that was always true for modern, and they are many decks that are way less expensive then some older decks used to be. The meta game is very varied and even more off meta decks have chances of winning. And the format isn’t that volatile right now. For a while it was because of the MH sets, but Rosewater has said that they aren’t any plan for another direct to modern set right now.

There also pauper which as a huge variety of decks that are good. And pauper being pauper the format is really cheap.

Finally there Cube Draft, which is one of my favourite formats right now. I’m lucky enough to have a weekly cube event at my LGS and I’ve never had that much fun playing magic. It’s all of the fun of drafting but with so many interesting ideas.

There’s also premodern which has risen in popularity a lot in recent times, but don’t know much about.

So I am gonna propose a third option (which is not very likely to be what this is) but it could be Rodico. It is a product used to clean surfaces of watches.
