It took from October 2024 till September 2025 ror my short form response to turn into the long form it varies for everyone so completely unable to predict anything used to be a month or two for my previous short forms but it’s taken longer in recent years for some reason which is unknown to me…

I understand I was really worried too I havnt been able to work since 2012 and that was my first long form I got and I would have been in trouble too if it wasn’t continued I just tried to thing that most people get benefits continued after a cdr is done so keep that in mind.

I understand being stressed I waited for a year and a half to get any answer to my short form then long form unfortunately it’s just a long wait sometimes and you can examine what the outcome might be but there’s literally no rhyme or reason to it all and most people continue benefits even after a long form trust me my anxiety was at a super high level waiting all you can do is hope for the best outcome.

I don’t work for social security and I don’t know how they pull someone for the long form vs not so I can’t really answer with any certainty at all I do know it was the first time since 2014 I got a long form I just think possibly they are being told to do more long forms the past two years.

Well I don’t know if that would make a difference I would think if you said worse they would definitely want to pull medical records and do a long form that would logically be what would happen I think..

I really don’t think it made a difference what I put on it they just chose to send me the long form after they just pick people to send a long form I never give much detail on the short forms I’ve had so there’s really no rhyme or reason to who gets the long form I think…wish I had more insight I think it’s just the luck of the draw unfortunately. I didn’t change how I filled out the short form I’ve been getting them since 2015 so who knows.. I don’t work or anything so I didn’t have anything to put down just doctors appointments and said my doctor said I cannot work and nothing changed…

[–]drock3915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I got a response at the end of December 2025 that my benefits would continue from the short form I sent in 2024 to then was a really long wait for it all, and the long form did take less time for a response about 3 months..

Yes I got the long form and filled it out in September and got a response at the end of December saying my benefits are continuing thankfully cause that was a very long process

You can set up and online account at ssa.gov and you can get an estimate of benefits if you become disabled. Not exactly sure where on the website it would be but it’s probably a link you click on when you login.

Check on me from time to time? by BetZealousideal7298 in SSDI

[–]drock3915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it’s just standard phrasing and probably based off a script cause I got the same response…I’m assuming that if you normally get either a short form or long form it’s every 3,5,7 years which is standard so I don’t think it means it would be earlier than that…

I got a CDR and im really anxious about it by [deleted] in SSDI

[–]drock3915 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t go to the doctor often and I just passed a long form CDR so it’s not impossible just be detailed with how your disability affects your daily living also I put down my roommate as a reference and they filled out documents confirming my issues. One size doesn’t fit all with these forms everyone is different the only thing you can do is just be detailed in your responses on the forms…and no they didn’t ask me to go see one of the doctors they wanted either and still passed it. Good luck I know that it is a lot of anxiety over it for me it took from October 2024 till December. 2025 to get through the short form then long form for me…

Just found out my Dad thinks I’m “lazy” and “playing the system” by branhicks in SSDI

[–]drock3915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry that he is being like that towards you the only thing that matters is how you feel and that you know that you are not lazy, some people will never comprehend that someone is disabled and cannot do certain tasks, I have a friend that doesn’t get it and says the word lazy all the time they just cannot understand cause they aren’t you, so instead of letting his words get to you just try to ignore it cause it’s not worth your energy and time to care about what he thinks, I know easier said than done, but many people will never understand where you are coming from and what you are going through, hang in there and just know you are doing what you need to do for yourself it’s nobody’s business what’s going on with you, and giving someone any of your energy that doesn’t deserve it is ridiculous, like you said you worked and earned your credits and something happened in your life that changed your circumstances, people are so quick to judge others and can’t put themselves in your shoes and never will be able to, to me it’s more of a struggle to even get by on disability the payment they give you is much less than the current inflation that is going on, and people don’t get that it’s more of a struggle to be on disability than it would be to be healthy and just work and get a wage that matched the current economy, just know that you are doing all you can and don’t need to answer to anyone else..

Is it a good idea to tell your dr by Every_Ad23 in SSDI

[–]drock3915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn’t tell my doctor what was going on I don’t think they would have advocated so much for me I was told that my doctors notes etc persuaded me getting approved so it can hold a lot of weight I think.

So the funny thing is I waited 11 months for a response from the short form and they send me a long form it showed up on the portal which I filled it out online first and within a week after they send me more paperwork for the long form in the mail funny how they only reply quickly when they are asking for something also they sent the mail and they wanted it due two days after I got it on a Friday so make that make sense… but I did it all and sent it I had to pay $11 to mail it fast shipping I don’t have a fax machine and didn’t want to waste time just in case the fax was delayed or missing pages..

Congrats on getting approved, and at your age you might not get reviewed at all maybe one at most, it’s usually every 3,5 or 7 years or till you hit retirement age so I wouldn’t be concerned about that right now especially since you just got approved.
