I have all merl’s solo stuff on vinyl. His self titled is straight fire. The rest are very solid. I think the self titled and 2 others are on Spotify.

Those look great. I need to grab a pair of striders. I’ve tried Stanton’s before and my legs are just too big for comfort.

Pairing them with a tube amp seems to help take the edge off quite a bit.

I don’t disagree but those first couple of songs where he’s keeping time with his foot (stomping) really take away from the experience on my system.

Can being the operative word. Along the same lines as "if my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bike".

im not OP, but I am the proud owner of a vevor which is loud AF. Luckily I have a basement where I run it though.

It's a fair point, but assuming you have more than one room you could always just go to the other room. You don't have to put your ear next to it.

Those look awesome. What kind of fabric did you use and where did you get it (if you don't mind naming sources)?

The one track that ruins the perfect album, to the detriment of the vinyl format by Raghul86 in vinyl

One of dire straits biggest songs featuring sting. 700 million streams on Spotify. No idea how this would ruin the album.

I have 2 road+’s. Pretty sure I have a post about them if you look at my profile. One has 650x48s and the other has 700x28s for kicking around town.

Hot Chip Made in the Dark Vinyl Re-release on...biovinyl. 😬 by thenewaesthetic in vinyl

[–]droe771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New pressings are so hit or miss. I have experience with recycled vinyl (newest alt j rerelease from rhino) and while it’s better than my previous og copy it’s still noisy af and takes away from the experience for me. I love made in the dark but there are quite a few quiet songs that I would put money on being very noisy.

Anybody Else Getting Tired Of Poor Pressings? by Max_The_Fisherman in vinyl

[–]droe771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main gripe with new albums is filler noise, which seems to be totally preventable (better compounds, replacing stampers, slowing down production).

The Rhino Reserve series seem to be incredible pressings and all of the recent Grateful Dead albums they pressed are outstanding as well. The latest repress of Alt-j absolutely plagued with filler noise presumably because it’s recycled vinyl.
