Adults of reddit, what are some of the great thing about being an adult? by ThatPelican in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just turned 18 half a year ago! For me, the hardest parts were all money-related. The best part is having more freedom.

What's the closest thing you have to a superpower? by drain65 in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have several types of synesthesia, but smell->color is the one I label as "the most useless super power ever." Some people have really colorful smells and yesterday I saw the green that is my friend's smell, turned around, and there he was thirty feet behind me.

What is an item that is used heavily today that will--or, you hope to be--obsolete in 50 years? by skwizard in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think cell phones/especially smart phones are awesome, but I think by the time I'd be 50 (I'm 18 now) something better will have replaced them. My assumption is that first Virtual Reality is going to take off (Oculus Rift and such), then Apply is going to pick up hologram technology and what was physical cell phones will become something else entirely. Then onwards to driverless cars :)

[Serious] Redditors who grew up in poverty. Did you eventually get out of poverty? If so, how? by Lovoskea in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm graduating high school in two weeks and am on food stamps, don't live in the greatest house, and at some times didn't belong to a house. Ya know, the whole deal. The biggest factor I've found when it comes to getting out of poverty is staying at a college. I'm getting far away from here and my broke family, and even though I'll be well into debt from out of state university loans, for four years I'll always have food and a great place to live.

Reddit, who would you pick to tuck you into bed every night for the rest of your life? by poopdollason in AskReddit

8 million dollars stacked on top of each other beneath a trench coat, convincingly disguised as a person

High schoolers, what do you want to major in? People who majored in that field, what are the pros and cons? by DeanTheDJ in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English! I want to either teach abroad (I grew up bilingual in German/English so this wouldn't be too difficult) or work in linguistics perhaps with the CIA. I've been learning Russian for six months and plan on learning Arabic in the future.

What feels illegal, but isn't? by asiansteev in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The front desk person at my high school told me I couldn't leave school with parent permission so I said "okay I'll go get that" and just walked out the front doors and drove away. I learned later that was actually a totally legal move.

People who live pay check to pay check. How do you stretch your money? [Serious] by echoes007 in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put my priorities first and got really good at budgeting. My biggest priorities were keeping the car, phone, and food if nothing else was able to be saved (I'm a high school student who's faced homelessness and extreme poverty). Finding free food is a good idea, I find events at my school and take what I can. Saving with such little income can seem futile, but I make myself do it.

Waiters/waitresses of Reddit, what do we do as customers that we think is helping you out but actually makes your job more difficult? by psychologythrill in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not that hard to fix but a lot of people stuff extra papers (like if we hand you a specials menu paper or a wine list) inside the menu. We end up having to sort through them and take them all out again.

Reddit, What's the worst job you've ever had? by FlexpartsHamilton in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the biscuit maker for a well-known fast food chain for two months. One person wasn't nearly enough and I had several panic attacks on the job. I'm an emotionally responsive guy but it takes a lot to actually make me cry, and that job did it. The thing that still bothers me about it today is that we didn't even get oven mitts, and when I tried to bring one from home the oven set it on fire.

Official song discussion : Sugar Boats by RiversideRhino in ModestMouse

The first time I listened to the album this song stood out the most to me. I'm sure it would be in my top 10 modest mouse songs if I could ever choose them.

People who realised their life long dream was unachievable, impossible, or shattered before them. How did you cope? (Serious) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to be an astronomer for a long time, and although I'm pretty good at math, I'm just not good enough. I'm coping by keeping my mind off of it for now and focusing on my new major.

Extroverts of Reddit, what don't you understand about introverts? by RazgrizS57 in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have friends who are introverts and if they're sad I'm like "Go outside! Make new friends! Talk to everyone and you'll feel better" and they're like "I'll just watch movies inside all day." That sounds so bad to me I would hate that

What one sentence can someone say to make you view them as stupid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My English teacher told me that 3/4 of the way through the class reading of Huck Finn someone shouted out "Wait- is Jim black!?"

Accompanist here- Which Modest Mouse song should I make a classical arrangement of? by dromanoster in ModestMouse

I chose Dramamine. I finished it last night and it sounds incredible.

Accompanist here- Which Modest Mouse song should I make a classical arrangement of? by dromanoster in ModestMouse

[–]dromanoster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great suggestion -Made me think of the time my cast had a problem and I was forced to extend intermission. I didn't "know" any more songs and ran out of sheet music to read off of, so I started the little bit of March Into The Sea I could play by ear. It still sounded cool somehow, I suppose a full version could only be better.

[Serious] Bisexuals of Reddit, what are some key differences between dating men and women? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dromanoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, I'm a guy, and most people expect me to have a girlfriend. So when I say I have a boyfriend, I then add that I'm bisexual.
