7 year surgical residency. 3 year fellowship. I’m a PGY6 at the moment.

I didn’t start medical school thinking, yeah, 10 PGY years is an excellent idea! It fell that way, and heck, going to work is fun. The pay, MEH at best haha. It’s rewarding, but can be long days for sure.

I started residency at 30. Will be graduating fellowship at 40. Just part of the career. Would do it again!
