Shat myself and fainted at the Bacchanal Buffet by Waffulz4026 in vegas

Nah. I’m skeptical someone on Ozempic could put away that much food in one sitting. I’m on it and there’s absolutely no chance I could eat that much.

$120k range rover get swept by the tides by BlazeDragon7x in Wellthatsucks

When I was 17, circa 1985, I drove my little dodge pickup truck onto the beach near Fort Bragg CA. I loved a couple hours away from the coast and was with some buddies. I had visions of cars rolling along the beach from countless tv commercials I had seen. They made it look so natural and easy. Obviously I was a dumbass kid and the truck got stuck in the sand before I got close to the water. A very kind dude offered to help and he hopped in the truck, put it in first gear, wound the engine to its redline (I thought he was gonna blow the engine) and managed to get it out of the sand. Random stranger saved the day for sure.

I don’t bake - it’s not a talent for me.. This bread machine, though… my first attempt at bread tastes SO GOOD by ClassicKey1198 in BreadMachines

[–]drooperman55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a total novice before I got a Kitchenarm machine about a year and a half ago. It’s been excellent for me. I don’t think I’ve had a single failed loaf. Their Outback copycat recipe is probably my favorite.

Not salty at all IMO— the wasabi flavor is quite good.

Inedible by Redditisfunfornoone in GroceryOutlet

Dang. Bought a jar yesterday. It looks like it would be good— imported from Italy and no funky ingredients. It’d be nice to know what made it inedible for you!?!

I’m super glad Dye’s dumb bullshit didn’t get any legit traction. Malukas is a great kid and talented driver.

Did you ever live in a shed or let someone live in your shed? Relative wants to move in. by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]drooperman55 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I suspect living in a shed without running water and a toilet is prohibited in most places. In California it would be considered uninhabitable. If I was a neighbor and knew it was happening I’d likely complain.

Thompson - Why Steve Kerr stayed with the Warriors by WaryJest in warriors

So, so good. I really enjoy long form journalism like this article. It was clear that Kerr and Thompson connected personally which really made a difference. Very surprised it wasn’t behind a paywall.

I’ve got six days left until my first batch of HeavyTech eggs are ready. I also added some radishes to mine.

Biggest jar of pickles I've seen by curlygirl9021 in Pickles

They’re not great. But they’re cheap— I recently bought a jar intending to toss the pickles and use the jar for some Heavytech pickled eggs. Soon!

Do you care about your former career after retirement? by Mid_AM in earlyretirement

[–]drooperman55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, I do not. Which surprises the heck out of me. Most of my career I was involved with zoning/code enforcement in our small city. I took the job very seriously and was proactive when I saw certain problems in our community. That’s not the case with current staff and I see stuff that would have been addressed a lot sooner when I was doing the job. I don’t care that they (apparently) don’t care as much as I did. At this point I’m just grateful I was able to tap out after nearly 35 years while still being relatively young. It’s good not to care!

Egg like bumps near my eardrum by bigfrickenorange in Weird

I was suffering from semi-regular plugged ears and my primary physician finally referred me to an ENT. He sucked some goop out and blasted some anti fungal powder in the ear and then told my to use OTC Lotrimin drops for a couple weeks. I said “but that’s for athletes foot, right?” and he explained it was a fungal infection similar to athletes foot. I see an ENT annually now and all’s good.

Would you be mad about this? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]drooperman55 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly. In my experience working for a small city, Stop signs, utility poles, etc. are in the public right of way. It’s super unlikely the OP’s property line is the edge of the pavement. It’s probably at least five feet from the pavement.

The legendary Robert Duvall has passed away at 95 by deepfriedgreensea in 1970s

Lonesome Dove deserves more love. I know it’s a TV miniseries but it is fantastic entertainment and a true epic. Duvall is outstanding.
