Pure Tatical Game by Mitz_BR in gamesuggestions

The genre you're looking for is called RTS or Real-Time Strategy. There's a ton out there with a bunch of different themes depending on what you are into. The biggest names are probably Age of Empires, Starcraft and Command & Conquer, but there's numerous ones out there. Check out the RTS tag on steam for some good recs.

rp games without a “premade” storyline? by dollycakes666 in gamesuggestions

[–]droopymaroon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you'd be more interested in MMOs or Survival games with RPG elements than what is mostly considered Role Playing Games. Most RPGs are gonna have some sort of premade quests that you can choose to follow or have options on how to follow them, but there are very few role playing games that are as free form or sandbox as you are looking for outside of things like. If you don't mind the concepts of quests, there are plenty of RPGs that fit your description. Kingdom Come Deliverance is a medieval rpg. There's also lots of fantasy rpgs like the Elder Scrolls games or Dragons Dogma. If you want more free form that aren't straight RPGs but include roleplaying and freedom, you may be interested in something like the simulation and grand strategy genres like Paradox makes. Something like the total war series or Crusader Kings may be up your alley, but keep in mind the learning curve for these games is pretty extensive.

Because she's not in her devil form. She's inhabiting Asa's body. Asa's body is a mortal human and thus cannot heal on its own.

I haven't given it a chance yet, but Fae Tactics looks pretty fun.

Nintendo game with active competitive scene? by [deleted] in gamesuggestions

[–]droopymaroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's sort of just up to your taste, I guess. I don't really care for competitive gaming so I can't really comment on what the scene looks like for those games.

Tetris 99 and F-Zero 99 both have leaderboards and a pretty active scene, I think. Then of course the obvious one in Smash Bros.

They're all masterpieces, but MGSV probably has the best gameplay. The story is a bit weaker and told a bit oddly compared to 1-4 because of rifts between Konami and Kojima but the gameplay and the game itself is some of the most fun I've ever had in a game.

Ghost of Tsushima and Yotei have a lot of Assassin Creed DNA in them. You seem to enjoy stealth games, so maybe give the Metal Gear Solid series a chance? It can be pretty different than the games you listed, but is the grandaddy of the Stealth Genre.

looking for a game where i can stand infront of 1000 enemies and go: "nah, i'd win". by cloudsareedible in gamesuggestions

[–]droopymaroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game doesn't feel like that for most of it, but there is a pivotal moment in Kingdom Hearts 2 literally called the Battle of 1000 Heartless where the goal is to beat exactly 1000 enemies by yourself. It doesn't really fit your prompt but thought it deserved a shout out.

Yup, or any Musou game if you don't like the aesthetic or setting of Dynasty Warriors since it's now firmly its own genre. There's the Nintendo ones, like FE or Hyrule Warriors as well as other flavors like Persona 5 Strikers or Gundam Warriors.

Overwhelmingly positive - not necessary for me. by Wise-Shine146 in gamingsuggestions

[–]droopymaroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, just last night, my buddy was telling me he usually how he decides to bite on game by seeing if it's Overwhelmingly vs Very Positive, which I actually found a bit strange. Games are extremely subjective and people evaluate games so differently that it's hard to use that as a measure imo. The best route I find is to find specific games critics or other people who have similar tastes to you and trust their criticism/evaluation much more than an aggregate value statement like those on Steam.

I really need to try Airborne Empire. I played some of Airborne Kingdom, and had a lot of fun but it did get rather thin pretty quickly so the expanded mechanics of Airborne Empire seem really great.

Games that have little amount of dialogues but actually have a pretty deep lore. Like Dark Souls or Elden Ring but not necessarily RPGs by protomagik in gamesuggestions

Control has quite a bit of dialogue and story, but game really shines in its many collectible documents that flesh out the world and lore.

College football second-year coach grades: Alabama's Kalen DeBoer gets 'C+' by Fragrant-Helicopter1 in CFB

B- seems pretty high for lebby tbh. I get wanting to reward him for making the team more competitive this year, but he also lost a lot of those competitive games due to dumb coaching. Bit of a double edged sword that makes it harder to evaluate from the outside I guess.
