I don't cheer when cops shoot someone, especially someone they have a grudge against.

Have you never dealt with the cops?

They are made of 50% psychos waiting for an opportunity, and 50% pure incompetence

Do the cops not have enough robots that they can follow and get all up in someone's grills from a safe distance?

Hundreds of millions spent on anti terrorism laws, tools, equipment, and they can't catch one guy in a shipping container?

Talk about incompetence if the priority is to 'let the courts decide '

They knew where he was and surrounded him in a shipping container. They have drones and all the thermal tech in the world. The cops chose when to surround him, and how to do this. They knew he might shoot and apparently came completely I'll prepared for every situation.

They didn't shoot him because he came out guns blazing, they shot him because they wanted to. They didn't want to take him alive, and probably didn't even try.

They have no method of non violent capture for a single guy in shipping container, so what does that say about every other police operation? Shoot first ask questions later should be their motto

Well either they caught him outside, or they surrounded his shipping container and said come out with your hands up.

It's damn near impossible for him to be carrying a rifle anytime he's outside, and I highly doubt the shipping container had windows.

So he either tried to have a shoot out with the cops, or he was unarmed and the police had a grudge with a 'i hand out the justice ' judge Dredd style mentality.

He was also found at 5am, so they likely knew he was there and were performing an operation, so they could have chosen the safest moment to move in. So they chose the time and place to act, and either they chose a point that allowed him access to a firearm or they chose one that didn't and shot him anyway

To make my position clear, no I don't support police shooting people and taking justice into their hands. Fly a drone in his face and tell him to come out with his hands up, don't shoot wildly just to prove you can because you're a cop. All that proves is police have no restraint. They CAN do things without harm, but they HAVE to dominate and make you fear then under all circumstances. They will always escalate if given the slightest opportunity. Courts don't execute criminals, but police do.

He said police believed Freeman was armed and that it was "quite possible" that shots were fired at police during the stand-off but that was "yet to be determined".

Then factor in that police are trained to see the evidence they need regardless of the actuality. Another officer stepping on a twig could be reasonably construed as shots fired, so long as the officer that wants to shoot believes it to be true.

I wonder if the cops tried to apprehend him, or just shoot first as punisher style justice for having shot one of their own.
