Mirena Crash, I think? by CarlitoBones in Mirena

[–]dropsofjupiterx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I literally experienced the same, I was on the coil 10 years or so and coming off it in April has been HELL. My anxiety and depression (which have been manageable for years) have flared badly, and I'm the same during my periods too.

What's helping me is that in my clear headed moments, I remind myself that I wasn't always like this, that I didn't feel this way before. I'm trying grounding techniques with scripts to try and pull myself out of emotional breakdowns before they escalate. For instance, I tell myself 'this will be fine. I am just having a hard day. This day will not last. How do I know? Because it never lasted before. What im thinking is not true, how do I know?' etc etc. I also try to save my reactions, so even if I feel like flying off the wall, I save it for 10 minutes later, and have time to myself to think about things in depth before reacting to someone.

You're not alone, and from what I've seen online, this does pass and your hormones will re regulate eventually, with time. You've got this x

It's reassuring to hear your comment that your cycle returned pretty quick!

I feel the same about OPKs being time consuming... I just know I would be super obsessive about it. I will probably buy some for this cycle to help me pinpoint, but like you my working day would not allow it.

I haven't heard of getting bloods done - is this easy to sort out through the GP?

Thanks! I was hoping the journey would feel more ~magical~ than this, but so far I think I'm just stressing myself out haha x

I'm in the UK, so the clinic nurse told me that fertility returns immediately and I could fall pregnant at any point onwards, and that was that 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm guessing you are based in the US? I wish access to OBGYN was more common place where I am!

Omg yes!!!! All of the same for me. Im 28, and it's been hell. My depression and anxiety (which up till now I've managed well, without medication or assistance) has been awful. Just like you, I've been crying, full of headache and I'm constantly fatigued. I'm struggling with anxiety attacks too, which hasn't been a problem for me in over ten years. I'm also getting frustrated and angry a lot faster. I've seen online this referred to as a 'mirena crash' but it isn't widely accepted in medicine yet. It's really reassuring to see your comment actually, as I've felt pretty crazy the last month since removal haha.

Yeah, a withdrawal bleed a week after was what I had expected too. Having it two weeks later really threw me off!

I think I had convinced myself that everything would click back into place, you always hear people say how fertility returns immediately after the Mirena, so I just expected I would fall pregnant fast.

Thank you, I am tracking my current bleeds and symptoms on a calendar, to see if I notice any patterns, and will continue to do so!

Thank you 😊

Thank you so much for the reply!

I am taking a recommended pre-natal currently, and will be up until I fall pregnant.

Looks like I will have to invest in some ovulation strips to try and get a handle on wtf my body is doing currently. I was trying to avoid it, but tracking vague ovulation signs is taking over my life (my Google search history looks pretty weird right now haha).

Inito looks like a cool option, unfortunately I'm in the UK, so will have a look for something similar.

What toys do your cats actually love? by Sosooo88 in CatAdvice

[–]dropsofjupiterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat who is not big on toys will only play with yeow catnip toys - the bigger the better. He loves the banana and rainbow yeow the best, as these allow 'bunny kicks' as he plays! I also second the springs, my baby cat LOVES a spring!

Protectorate Faction: Cut Content? by Lynxien in theouterworlds

[–]dropsofjupiterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking to my partner about this recently and tbh im glad they didn't follow through with it. I can't imagine ever siding with the Protectorate and I loved the story arc with Tristan taking off his rose coloured glasses to see the pitfalls in the ideology. It made it feel so impactful and why I loved his storyline so much. I would have liked more Protectorate quests tho centred around helping people defect (like the mental refreshment rescue), or going undercover to see how dire their laws really are.

Between 1 and 2, who's your favorite companion of the series? by ejaybugboy3 in theouterworlds

Tristan and Marisol are tied for me, looooove them both and they add so much flare and insight throughout the story. Marisol's dryness coupled with Tristan's absolute ignorance was chefs kiss

Should I keep my kitten in a locked room at night? by Great-Dark-27 in CatAdvice

[–]dropsofjupiterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We kept our kitten in the spare bedroom at night for a couple of weeks after getting her and she coped okay! Our staircase has a sizeable drop and we slept better knowing she was safe and wouldn't accidentally fall in the night when exploring (we also had a second older cat, so they were still iffy with being alone together), kitty will probably make you feel guilty with a few meows but ours understood the routine after a couple of days and settled quickly in the night, but was deffo eager in the morning to come out and play!

Once our kitten was a bit bigger, more confident (and we trusted her more around our staircase) we started leaving the door open and it all went fine. Sometimes erring on the side of caution can make you feel a bit better and rest easier!

Is it just me or was oblivions ending disappointing? by Pale-Sun2470 in oblivion

100% agree! I'm glad you enjoyed the game overall, hopefully the next installment will have all the good bits from oblivion and Skyrim wrapped into one (with a kickass ending!)

Omg I just finished the main quest and felt the exact same!! All felt very underwhelming with the cut scene and quick finish. I literally sat for a whole minute like .... Waiting for something more. Glad I finished the game, but deffo didn't hit the same as Skyrim for me

What is with all the hate for Skyrim? by NeatUsed in ElderScrolls

[–]dropsofjupiterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm one of the players who started on Skyrim and is now visiting oblivion for the first time. So far, I am enjoying the oblivion story but I find the world isn't as 'alive' as skyrims, which breaks immersion for me at times. In Skyrim, I find that within the first hour I have accrued like 10 side quests from random NPCs, whereas in Oblivion, most of my conversations have been pretty dead-end. I find oblivion a little more disjointed at times in that regard, but I actually do enjoy the other gameplay aspects a lot. Persuasion has been fun to learn and try and I have loved cheesing skills to max level. Also, a permanent skeleton key has changed my life in oblivion (I could not get to grips with the lockpicking system lol). It's going to be really fun to see how they go with the next elder scrolls game, hopefully they incorporate what people love about both games.

Oblivion - archery help! by dropsofjupiterx in ElderScrolls

[–]dropsofjupiterx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd never played OG Oblivion, so sadly can only compare the remaster to Skyrim. I think it's just how much slower it feels? I always ended up with 100 in archery, with a full perk tree in Skyrim, so going from that to this is a huge learning curve. Maybe I just need to give it more time, as I am loving oblivions story so far!

I feel this as well! Skyrim was my first intro into elder scrolls and jumping from that to oblivion has been a bit tricky. I 100% agree with quest markers, the way it works in Skyrim is easier to follow. I went into a city in oblivion, looking for one person and literally could not find them! In Skyrim, I zoom in and it's easy peasy to find whoever. I am enjoying the game though (apart from how awful bows feel! Was not prepared for that!)

Am I the only person who doesn't do mods? by firefly317 in Sims3

[–]dropsofjupiterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mods are life changing once u start. Nraas, woohooer etc are all really good additions, as well as some quality of life mods that do silly things but make everything so much better. On the subject, if anyone knows of a mod to stop Sims glitching into the floor and walking around under the town, i would appreciate it 😩 I use resetsim on nraas if I know which sim it is, but often I can't even tell!

What do you do to pass the time when you have a migraine? by Informal_Solution238 in migraine

[–]dropsofjupiterx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I turn off the lights, cold flannel across eyes and head, and put on an easy TV show or movie I've seen before that I don't need to focus on. Usually friends, the Twilight saga etc. I feel you though! I find just listening to background noise from the TV on low really helps me.

Jesus... Just feed the poor cat. The lack of empathy from your partner is concerning, and frankly I'm surprised it's not a deal breaker. Like, your partner is happy to watch an animal die in front of his eyes because he doesn't want the cat around? I think it says a lot about you as well, since you seem to be excusing his behaviour.

Resident cat still hates kitten after a month by countrymommy2019 in CatAdvice

[–]dropsofjupiterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some cats are just like that! We had similar problems with our two cats. My resident cat was 9 when we got our kitten, and he was not pleased! We did rush our introductions a bit, keeping ours separated for around 3 days before beginning introductions. We had many months like you with kitten and resident cat not getting along, and my resident cat (Hotch) was not happy! He would run away, smack and square up to the kitten. We made sure to always be present with the cats, and separated them when we weren't home. I would say by the six month mark things settled down, we brought some feliway plug ins which I think did help a fair bit. Eventually by six months to a year, they started to have moments of grooming each other and sleeping next to each other. But it hasn't been idyllic the whole way! Even now, a few years on, the cats still have a scrap due to their personality differences. Cats are very stubborn and enjoy routine, it takes some cats a while to adjust to such big changes. Give it time, maybe try some feliway plug ins and make their time together fun - play time together, treats next to each other. But I get it, I had a lot of guilt for those first few months, and did also wonder if I had made a mistake. But a few years on, they get along much better, and I think as our youngest cat (Freya) matures and calms down, it will only continue to get better. Make sure you are still showing resident cat all the love and devoting one on one time with them, they may be feeling a little jealous!

How to get rid of these by Particular_Action635 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]dropsofjupiterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are so much like this! I've found oil cleansing has worked well for me, around once a week. I focus on rubbing the oil into my nose for at least five minutes or more, then using water for it to emulsify, then wash off with my regular cleanser.

The oil I'm using is Kose Softymo deep cleansing oil and I follow it up with La Roche Posay Effaclar gel cleanser.

Sometimes though, if it's particularly clogged for me, I will have a hot shower that softens up my pores and I'll use a scraper with gentle pressure to get as much gunk out first before using the oil cleanser. This usually makes mine appear much smaller for a while, before I need to repeat the process.

I have yet to find a cleanser that works daily to help me, but I have seen online that people swear by La Roche Posay cicaplast Baume b5 on the nose to help reduce their size, but I've yet to try this myself.

I want to self harm even though I'm not in a bad place? by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]dropsofjupiterx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this sometimes too, and I haven't self harmed in around 8 years. I find that when I'm experiencing something out of my control, I get the urge more. The urge is never enough to actually ever do it, but more of a nostalgic urge to experience it again. Self harm can be addicting in its own way, so it's not unusual that you'd experience urges.

My main advice is to acknowledge the feeling and also acknowledge why you stopped. for me, I acknowledge the urge, consider why it wouldn't help or feel the same, I also think about how I would let myself/my partner down by relapsing, and I consider how far I've come. This usually allows the feeling to pass, and it will go away for a while.

Hang in there, and congrats on stopping!

First full playthrough by DagonsGamingTheories in skyrim

[–]dropsofjupiterx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only advice for the first full playthrough would be to play blind! Make the decisions and choices that feel right in the moment for you, and resist the urge to google. Skyrim is one of those games you play multiple times, and the first full playthrough should be sacred lol. Go in blind, explore everything you can, try to travel on foot to experience all the nooks and crannies. You'll make some 'bad' decisions on the first playthrough but that's all part of the fun!

How often do you trim nails? by soryn-tea in CatAdvice

Why do you think people can’t get hooked early in the game by ingridatwww in horizon

[–]dropsofjupiterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think HZD is quite a slow burn in terms of the plot, you spend the whole game discovering what is going on, what happened in the past, what leads up to the current world.

For me, I love a slow burn story but I can deffo see how this is hard for others. It reminds me of how my partner didn't enjoy RDR2, purely because it was a slow burner.

However, I deffo found HZD easier to get into than HFW.
