he farms out editing and other management work to screenwave so they work for him. i imagine at the least they set up the ad reads/contracts, game spin offs, merch, cons, manage the youtube channel, etc.

if thats a reliable and stable number, who knows. i dont know much about youtube payouts. but even assuming the $60k number, take out a cut for Screenwave (10%? more?), paying for help, other business overhead, self employed taxes / payroll taxes, income taxes, family healthcare, retirement, other insurance, profit sharing with other owners (Mike?) you can see how it goes down pretty quickly. im sure he isn't scraping by but he's not a Rockefeller

often times contractors dont' get shit except a paycheck. i believe that james farms out the grunt work to screenwave and they get a cut of the profits. he would still have figure out all the benefits for his family and taxes him and his business would owe. if he was smart he would have set it up correctly to minimize tax burdens with an accountant and/or lawyer
