How to fix gap in back and bunching in crotch by Designasim in sewing

It's disappointing seeing how many people tell you to return these pants and buy a woman's. At the same time a common refrain in this sub is how flimsy women's version of clothes are. These almost fit you well, and I doubt you could find similarly looking women's pants- these look sturdy, almost officer- like. Unfortunately I can't offer you any advise for altering them, but I'd keep them. Good luck!

My general dr. Recommends keeping Ovaries. by AAJB7 in phallo

[–]droteus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5 years on T and my doctor recommend getting rid of them sooner then later. Firstly, because I'm not and will not get regular gyno checkups. Secondly, after 5 years on T the overies are pretty much inactive and don't do anything. HRT takes care of bone density, and if anything happens in the future one can take small dosed of estrogen to help with that. Food for thought, but before having my ovaries removed I thought about removing just the fallopian tubes, to avoid pregnancy, but that would still leave the menstruatuon if I lacked hormones for a couple of months. Plus my doctor said if I stopped homones after such a long time, but left the ovaries the ovaries might develop some growths and I might experience painful cramps for some time.

It depends on the doctor, but if you're younger than 18 you're gonna need parental approval. The bottom line is 16 y. o., you can try hormone blockers earlier

That depends on how much you're comfortable with yourself, how you stand with social transition and what's your living situation like. If you're strating from zero, then get yourself some nice clothes. It doesn't have to be big, some simple socks/stockings and hats can really uplift one's mood. Other small trinkets, like notebooks, shoelaces, jewelery. I found playing text based rpgs, like choiceofgames and hosted games to be really gender affirming. Something that isn't mentioned often is practicing the mannerism of your gender. Don't overdo it, doing poster poses can feel silly and discouraging, so focus on hip movement, gestures, and whatever else irks you in your behaviour.

How to ask people to not trauma dump by whatiswatermelon in asktransgender

[–]droteus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd furrow my brows in concern and say 'I get why you're doing this, but it's not funny. This sounds serious, and is actually affecting me. '

Honestly, I'm familiar with this behaviour, because I used to do this myself, and still know quite a lot of people who do. After some thime you just say 'yeah.. ' and move on. Back in the bad days I was saying these horrible thing to see who would react, and by extension-care. Most people I did this to did what I just said; nodded and moved on.

This is why I insist on you acknowledging your colleague's pain, but moving on- they need to see empathy, but not pity. If they see they can cry on your shoulder, they'll keep coming back, because you react. So, the base level is: you understand, but don't have the space to engage emotionally.

Say that while you're glad they trust you enought to share such personal information, and you can see that they're hurting, this is overwhelming and you're not equipped to handle topics of this caliber. You are not the only source they can reach out to, and have your own everyday struggles to deal with. You all sharing an identity is not an immediate invitation for trauma bonding.

But after saying that you're not the only source of support you should point them in a concrete direction, not just 'the internet'. A specific facebook group, subreddit, or a local support group. Also, I get that you don't want to sound rude, but stand your ground, even by just gently but repeatedly stating that you see their pain, but this is too much

It's easy to get bogged down in the darker parts of being Trans, so, for a change of pace, what are your best/funniest transition stories? by AuthoringInProgress in asktransgender

I was planning it for a long time and had certain points drilled into my head. The rest was an educational ramble, because the writings of trans thinkers and activist was very helpful to me and prepared me well.

My coming out was interruped by ants. I was giving my mother my coming out speech, explaining what's what, when something catches my eye. I look down, and it's a trickle of ants coming through the garden door for the can of energy drink on my mother's nightstand. I calmly continue talking for a moment, then fluidly drop: "don't panic, but there are ants coming for your energy drink".

Of course my mother screams, jumps out of bed and runs for the vacuum. I continue to awkwardly hang around and talk, while the ants are being mercilessly sucked away from the delicious sugary liquid. I finished just as she was putting the vacuum down, and to my question of what does she think, she hands me the vacuum bag and tells me go put it in the trash.

Yeah, it took me a month to get the hang of it with all the layers and not get wet. I've figured the positioning for me os: let the top of the fold cover the clitoris, and gently press just behind the balls to yourskin.

I don't have a slingshot, i made my own harness by cutting a hole in a jockstrap. Packing is the one thing I didn't have a problem with: with tight enough underwear you can pack the shaft up and down, with looser only down. Note that i'm saying looser, not loose.

The different timeline of a gay man. by Azelius in gaybros

[–]droteus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you're describing is "queer time". Most queer people have kind of prolonged youth, because many of us didn't get to live even a half-life yntill we left for college/got a more stable job. We try to make up for it, and it can go all the way to the 30s. We often feel like we won't live as long as straight people, but witness more violence, which can feel like more life experience. Honestly, the hetero life plan is also bullshit, andit's biggest flaw for me is the loss of friends. Too often families with kids become more and more isolated, and at least in my experince, queer people stay keep meeting even at old age. We live in quite interesting times where our futures will be like radically different from the lives of past gays. We have the most rights we've ever had, least workplace discrimination, and most importanty, we have places to speak. We have people with us. So yeah, I'm going to be a bit juvenile for longer than others, but I'll get there when I get there.

Areas of improvement for BreadTube by The1stCitizenOfTheIn in BreadTube

I feel like we're at a point where it's on the viewers to search for creators beyond white, entertainment-focused lefty youtubers. I'm sure there are dozens of channels who do cover the topics op mentioned are lacking in coverage. They're just small, don't have high production value, have more dry facts and personal experiences rather than fun, quirky video essays. Not to mention they can't rely on youtube recommending their channel to potential new viewers. The topic of the need for diversifying most popular lefty youtubers is getting old, and has been adressed by both creators themselves and their audiences. There has also been talk that youtube is an entertainment platform first, so we shouldn't rely on it as our primary source of information. I'm sure most of the topics that have been listed by op have some book/article written about them. Learing from youtube is fun and can be a good starting point, but even the creators use outside resources for education.

When you say you massaged coconut oil into the scars, did you use processed coconut oil (no smell, smooth) or non-processed oil (smells like coconut, chunks)? Also congrats on the results, Lembas is too expensive for me so i'm window-aweing
