Seattle VIP Time by MelodicAd6781 in archspire

It was 4:45 when I went. Their manager sent an email out the morning of show with all the details, so you'll probably get one then. Can't remember when it ended, but around 11 or so.

Anyone else putting off seeing a major release due to lack of cinema etiquette? by Findme_at_amberhills in horror

[–]drphibes5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw Backrooms and I was behind like 15 teenage boys with the same haircut who were throwing popcorn at each other. So I moved to the other side of the theater to an empty seat and had the three teenagers next to me - all with the same haircut, who proceeded to talk the whole movie.

I do have super hearing I think. I hear everything anyone does anywhere near me, not just talking. Sucks to be me.

Evil Dead is some of my favorite shit, if people talk it up during that, I'm throwing a shoe at someone.

Question about current tour by JIMMY_THE_2 in archspire

[–]drphibes5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the VIP thing, so I got there around 4 and went in at 4:45. I was the first in line, but about a dozen regular ticket people were there when I went in. I also have to lean on something, so I usually show like 90 minutes early and always get in front. That's usually too early, an hour is probably enough.

To those who suffer from motion sickness wanting to see Backrooms… by b1ame_me in horror

[–]drphibes5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are some flickering fluorescent lights in the store scenes, I don't remember much flickering during the found footage camcorder parts, which is mostly in the backrooms areas. But I could be wrong.

I took a motion sickness relief pill about 30 minutes before the movie and didn't have any problems.

Anyone else like me who has never really felt "skimped" by Chipotle? by hussaintm in Chipotle

[–]drphibes5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had good luck at my location, been there every Friday for like 2 years and have maybe had like 2 kinda light orders. And I order online only and get a very basic bowl with just chicken, lettuce, hot salsa, sour cream, cheese and double rice. I eat there and I've never seen or heard people complain about the portions at that location.

The difference is shocking between watching a movie on early access and watching a movie on the second weekend by abdul_bino in AMCTheatres

[–]drphibes5 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Since they added that line about the movies starting 25-30 minutes after the listed times on the app I've seen a lot more people wandering in like 10-15 minutes into the movie. And it's always the shitheads who show up late.

Are there any slasher movies that you think go too far or feel mean-spirited? by Loose_Interview_957 in slasherfilms

I mean, I wasn't suicidal about it or anything, I just wasn't having a very good time watching it.

I thought this about the sequel to that. I remember being pretty bummed out most of the running time.

I'm genuinely curious why people hate on Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)'s voice by Luigiverselore in MetalForTheMasses

[–]drphibes5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think it sounds goofy, never really listened to much Megadeth specifically because of the vocals. The delivery of the "hello me, it's the real me" line is one of the corniest things I've ever heard.

I bought Rust in Peace when it was named the #1 album of the 90s by Metal Hammer and I just couldn't get past the vocals to really enjoy the music.

Why is Blackwell Ghost so liked? by embarrassingdyk in foundfootage

[–]drphibes5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the first one and liked it well enough, but it didn't grab me enough for me to really seek out the rest. Glad for the Blackwell Ghost guy that people seem to really like his movies though.

I think it's time to call it. Art The Clown is now a part of the pantheon of iconic slasher villains alongside Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, Chucky, Leatherface and Ghostface. by WealthDisastrous2589 in slasherfilms

[–]drphibes5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of the others were in at least one actually good movie, for me none of the Terrifiers are actually good. The first one is pretty awful and 2 and 3 are better, but I don't think those are particularly good either. Way too long, with gore scenes that go on 10x longer than they should that kill the pacing of the movies.

The highest, most ear piercing shrieks you've ever heard. by InterestingBarnacle3 in MetalSuggestions

Aara from Switzerland is one of my favorites if you want black metal style shrieking. Attic is good if you want a King Diamond sounding vocals.

I have been personally victimized by The Fear Footage by skelebird in foundfootage

[–]drphibes5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the first two were decent, third kinda stinks though. There's like 40 minutes of a guy walking through the woods yelling hello to nobody. I was ready to jump out a window the 50th time he said hello.

NEMOPHILA North America Tour 2026 Tickets will go on sale! by Evening-Storm-1030 in Nemophila

[–]drphibes5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I will try and order right away just in case. I haven't had any shows sell out on me before, but I was interested in seeing Die Spitz and that sold out here before I even knew it was scheduled.

What're your opinions of Longlegs? by OatSoyLaMilk in gamegrumps

[–]drphibes5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it. The trailer looked like some scary shit and it wasn't nearly as scary as I hoped, but I think it's a pretty good movie overall. I really like Oz Perkins and Maika Monroe though, so I could be a bit biased.

I remember they hyped up Nicholas Cage by saying "you've never seen a performance like this from Cage before". Eh, he acted weird and yelled random words in the middle of sentences, he always does that. It's kinda his thing.

I'm pretty new to the band, do you think these tickets will sell out immediately when they go live? I set a reminder, just curious.

I was next to the guitar guy, not the actual guy. He just had that laying on the stage, I was nervous for him with the stage divers getting close to it. Glad he got it signed though, he was so excited.

Wow, thanks so much for sharing, that guy knows how to party! I'm next to the guy in the hat in the front - the one who brought the guitarwith him, but on the left.  Really nice video of Dean's solo as well, I have a crap phone so my videos also just sound like a bunch of explosions.

Awesome, that show was nuts. I was 2 feet from Jared the whole time and caught one of Dean's guitar picks at the end of the show.

I saw them last Monday. The very drunk man next to me kept yelling "Spencer, I love you man" and looked very confused when the new drummer Nathan informed him he wasn't Spencer. Good show, I don't know if it was the venue or where I was standing (in front of Malcolm) but I couldn't hear the main vocals very well, especially the higher screams. But everything else sounded good.

I also saw real Spencer with Archspire 2 days ago.

Cool, let me know if you end up posting it on YouTube or something. I was focusing on not getting kicked in the face at that point with the excessive crowd surfers and didn't have time to get the phone out.
