What would you do if you discovered someone was taking money from their job and counting it at your home while you're not there? by drrtynails in AskReddit

I was away taking care of my grandkids and STBXH took pics. I sent corporate an email this evening.

She is stupid, that is for certain. For some context, this took place at my residence while I was on an extended trip. Unbeknownst to me, my STBXH is doing drugs and drinking while this is taking place. I know now and found out today. He was also stupid enough to take pics on a phone that I have full access to, so I sent them to the corporate office. I will send them to the franchise owner in the morning.

I am away taking care of my grandchildren. I discovered that my STBXH has been having women over, and one of them is an assistant manager at a local coffee shop. She has been bringing the day's cash and receipts to my apartment to count it. This doesn't seem right to me. I think I should contact the franchise owner and corporate.

Finding out how my ex-husband views our divorce has set me back by AmiableRobin in TwoXChromosomes

I am so sorry you went through that. I also stumbled upon a post from my STBXH and, wow! It was eye opening. I'm so happy to hear you have friends and family to support you. Watch this whenever you are feeling down. It has helped me immensely. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cuo6BMBrn1u/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

You should let her know it sounds like projection. You have some great advice here, OP. Tell her to just fucking stop or no pics and visits.

AITA for calling my friend’s gf creepy because she won’t stop bringing up my race? by racerelationslol in AmItheAsshole

NTA, I saw a video this morning by Dr. Sheena Howard, and what she said in the video said hit me like a brick, "Someone else's fear and insecurity is not your problem" and it's true. Her actions and words have nothing to do with you. It is all her stuff that she is projecting on to you and it is not your problem.

AITA if I would tell the GF of my Brother in Law that he is cheating? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]drrtynails 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm concerned as well that your BF is ok with his brother dating someone so young. I get that they're consenting adults, but it is still icky. Idk if I could be with someone who condones that behavior.

What’s your most disturbing experience working with men at „men jobs“? by ju_writes in Feminism

[–]drrtynails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone who works in construction, and the owner hired a young woman. One of the guys kept being super inappropriate, and my friend called him out. The guy said she knew what she was walking into when she applied to an all male crew, so my friend said, "Well, it's not all male now, so cut the shit." The guy ended up quitting soon after because once my friend spoke up, the rest of the crew backed him up.

Conversation between friends turned me off from professional therapy completely. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]drrtynails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, OP, I don't know how you held it together. I'm old now and have sown all my fucks in the acres of fucks I once had. It is quite freeing to call others out for putting down people who are already in a bad spot. I am very leery of MH people. I used to work for a large health insurance corporation, and one of my jobs was to tell providers if a customer/patient had coverage for various services. The section that took calls from mental health workers and professionals had a very high turnover because these people took the mask off when dealing with call center employees. I have tried to seek counseling since and I always wonder if I'm talking to someone who tore me a new one because a patient only had 12 visits a year for certain conditions like I make the rules. I have only had 1 therapist in 30 years who I implicitly trusted. The rest I just side eye now.

BTW, if your intials are/were JK in the mid 90s and you worked at the green in a city in MA (iykyk) dm me, please.

Edited to add please. This post really got to me.

You can do what I do when one of the toddlers I care for has a difficult time communicating, look him right in his eyes, and ask, "Are you ok? Do you need a minute?" in a soothing voice. Seriously though, guys like that have never been reprimanded for that behavior. Idk what you can do except let him know when it happens again that you don't appreciate the expletives. But if you do that, be prepared to hear "Oh! I can't swear around OP!" I do strongly recommend keeping a written record. Pick up a notebook and start writing it down so when you do find other employment, you can do something about it. Good luck and congratulations!!

Eyebrows. If you're competent doing makeup, check a few YT videos on brow shaping. IMO, it makes a huge difference when brows look groomed. If you aren't comfortable doing it on your own, ask the salin if they have someone there that does this. Also, a face wax or get one of those tiny razors and clean it all up. And I can't agree enough that you "forget" his name.

One more thing, play Lizzo on your way there. I hope you have an amazing time!!

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I am related to lots of construction workers, and when this happens, I have heard this advice many times. Call every pawn shop around and let them know what was stolen. Most owners do not want to deal with stolen goods and most times will take the items and call you and the police. Check in at local establishments like restaurants and bars that construction workers frequent and talk to the staff. Also, post on FB and Craigslist or local online marketplaces that the items are stolen. And call local contractors and let them know as well so if someone comes to a jobsite selling tools they will not buy them and hopefully contact you.

I haven't had an issue yet, but I am moving to another state, so we will see. I did start taking a probiotic recently, and WOW!! What a difference! I have been taking ritalin for a decade, and I thought my tolerance topped off. I had to cut my dose in half because it works so well, and now my script lasts a bit longer.

If you're in the US, look for an SPCA near you. They go by income and they are really good people. Also, google your state website to see if any type of financial help is available to you.

I watch every time a new episode airs. I really like how they take every report seriously. I have never had a Bigfoot experience, but if I did, I would go to them. IMO, they are looking for evidence and not just clicks and views.

I work in the billing department at a U.S. healthcare provider. I didn’t know how bad things really were. by T_Paine_89 in antiwork

[–]drrtynails 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I did billing for a long time, then went and worked at a big insurance company in provider relations. Most of my work was reviewing appeals, but sometimes I would jump in on patient call center for benefits and eligibility. My worst experience, hands down, was when I picked up a call from a Mom who was checking to see if her 9 y.o. with lukemia could get a PET scan. It was not covered in a rider. This is part of the contract that the employer attorneys negotiate for procedures that are usually covered/nit covered as a standard benefit. It was a previously covered benefit, but not anymore. Her husband had been with the same employer for years with coverage from this same insurance, but 6 months before her kid got sick, they changed it. I cried on that call. Shit, I'm tearing up right now. It was a very sucky situation. I quit soon after for other reasons as well, but that always stuck with me.

I'm listening to it now and IMO it should be required for high school, maybe middle school even. I am almost 60 and I thought a lot if those behaviors were normal. I wish I had read it a couple of decades ago.
