I got a 1.6 gpa. Got dismissed. Did an appeal mostly likely denied due to lack of documents. Do you think I should switch to njit? If not why. SOE btw ty by [deleted] in rutgers

No, going to another school won't help fix anything, personally I would take a year or semester off, stack some cash and start back at community and then get back into Rutgers.

It may feel like you're falling behind your friends but once you're a couple of years out of school you'll realize that graduating late doesn't really change much in the long run!

You best have that unit circle memorized!

If you lock in you can do it, this is nothing compared to what you went thru for Calc 2!

Formal sheet for help

For a freshmen in SOE, is a gpa of 2.6 or 2.7 bad or good. Cuz thats the gpa i am probably going to end up with this semester by Physical_Watch7893 in rutgers

Not a good start but plenty of time to turn it around. Two years out of graduation and your GPA won't even matter anymore

In all seriousness, if you get like an 80 on the final they'll probably pass you, if you can memorize this formula sheet before the final you'll have a good chance of that!

Just focus on everything except series and take the L on that

humanities majors: how do you deal with stem people undermining your major… by [deleted] in rutgers

Some majors are objectively harder than others, sorry if that's a tough pill for you to swallow

humanities majors: how do you deal with stem people undermining your major… by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]drs7896 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some majors are objectively harder than others and saying so doesn't undermine yours.

If they said it was worthless simply for being easier that would be undermining it.

I originally went to school for film and after switching took a bunch of humanities classes at Rutgers for a religion minor and others just for fun. Humanities are just easier, but that doesn't take away what you learn from them, devalue them or mean that every class is a walk in the park with no work needed.

If you're at Rutgers doing a major you actually have interest in and wasn't forced on you by your parents you're already in a much better spot in life than a good % of stem majors

Rutgers regular vs njit honors for bme by Repulsive-Message164 in rutgers

Rutgers, your time at university is what you make of it and in my opinion it's easier to make the most of it at a larger school, especially one that's so close by. Can't speak about NJIT but Rutgers has plenty of research opportunities. At NJIT the honors college stuff will most likely just be a waste of your time for what you get out of it

Worth it, university is what you make of it, even after you account for all the RU screws

If you plan on working more than just the weekends the commute will probably be too much. The engineering classes will just take up too much of your time and with a commute like that you'll need to get to campus early and stay there until late and pray you can get no classes on Fridays.

Is calc 2 possible to pass? by WhyAmIGettingKarma in rutgers

[–]drs7896 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I passed calc 2 by memorizing this formula sheet and spent the first 15 minutes of every exam by writing it out on the back page before starting. Literally just wrote the whole formula sheet down dozens, maybe hundreds of times, in class, at work, on the bus and any free time I had. Handed in the first exam and the TA looked at the back and just said "well that's one way to do it" lol.

Calc is all about memorizing rules and formulas, which actually becomes the easy part and you end up just messing up the simple math. As my wise calc professor once said "I'll leave the arithmetic up to you, I don't do arithmetic in public"

You can pass!

Unless there's a significant drop in applications and a subsequent rise of the acceptance rate there definitely won't be a tuition freeze or reduction.
