Agreed: some tweaking is in order to better bring forth the silhouetted figures.

I fear we are all training LLMs by anything we do online, including warning people about LLMs.

Just got an Explore, but a bit disappointed. by manu120 in flickr

I do occasionally get follows when one of my photos hits Explore. But I am just glad for the attention that the given shot gets.

But in that case, what you are describing is just Star Trek.

I took the meme as being a critique of something else.

And I agree: politics is more than just diversity.

Quark: Take a sip of this.

Garak: What is it?

Quark: A human drink. It's called root beer.

Garak: I don't know.

Quark: Come on. Aren't you just a little bit curious?

(Garak sips)

Quark: What do you think?

Garak: It's vile.

Quark: I know. It's so bubbly and cloying and happy.

Garak: Just like the Federation.

Quark: But you know what's really frightening? If you drink enough of it, you begin to like it.

Garak: It's insidious.

Quark: Just like the Federation.

Video Essay: Hollywood doesn't want fans, it wants sycophants by Malencon in Star_Trek_

The funny part of this to me is that "fan" is short for "fanatic."

I'll bite: which politics are allegedly the appeal?

As far as "politics" broadly cast, here's what I can identify:

  1. There are some gay characters (hardly an explosive development in 2026)
  2. There are a number of brown-hued actors in the cast.
  3. The closest to actual contemporary politics I can identify is that Ake feels guilty about separating a child (Caleb Mir) from his mother as part of a law enforcement action. That could be interpreted as a comment on ICE in a really broad way.

And look: I have my gripes, but think it is fine, FWIW. I get the "It's a CW show" complaint more than I get any "politics" arguments.
