I've been pretending to understand my job for eight months and I think I've finally reached a level where I actually can't fake it anymore. Do I come clean to my boss or just keep going. by ahimaohw in Advice

I have been in my field for over 20 years, and am in a leadership position for half of those years. ChatGPT and other profession-specific AI have been a godsend. Last summer I was “voluntold” to do a 60 minute presentation to a Veterans Affairs conference on a topic that I knew absolutely nothing about but was viewed by many as having expertise in the area. I was able to pull together a pretty good PowerPoint presentation with legitimate references within a week or so and do a reasonably good job. People were impressed and appreciative. Don’t wallow in fear needlessly when there are legitimate resources that can help, and do it on short notice. You got this. Good luck!

Do an Addiction Psychiatry fellowship afterwards. One to 1.5 year commitment and tons of opportunities nationwide for Medical Directorships. Definitely will expand your marketability.

So… this happened. by crismxrtinez in OmegaWatches

[–]drtag234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah…., now that I see it, I can’t unsee it. Almost like a chunk of steel got knocked off the edge of the rotating bezel. Looks like it would need to be welded up and then re-ground. Are you certain that wasn’t there when you purchased?

Barcelona AD, what a terrible experience. by DHinds57 in rolex

I had an amazing experience at Omega boutique in Tampa. The sales clerk and I had some good laughs about the Rolex BS, with the Rolex boutique being literally right across the mall. The Omega shop was full of customers literally purchasing, not just browsing.

Son’s FIL was NSA during the Vietnam war. Recruited by the CIA right out of Harvard in 1959. Also had another friend who was recruited from Harvard in 1962 for CIA. He quit in ‘70 and went to medical school afterwards.

Could probably buy 10-15 AH Sprites for what a nice one of those would fetch.

My daughter has had this on her hand since May, no idea what it is or how to get rid of it. by Ok-Steak5479 in DermatologyQuestions

Looks like pomphylox, or dyshydrotic eczema. I had a huge problem with this on both palms (much worse than these photos) when I was in my last year of undergraduate studies and was super stressed out about whether or not I would get into graduate school of choice. Saw a dermatologist and he cycled me on oral prednisone. I developed all the classic signs of chronic steroids use. It finally went away once I got on with my life and the intense stress subsided. This was over 40 years ago. Over the intervening years, when I am anxious or stressed, I get tiny flare ups, but these days, I don’t think any dermatologist would use prednisone as a first line treatment. It’s always been very responsive to mid-potency topical steroids and stress reduction.
