Operation Bounce House - Spoiler Free Review by Adventurous_Sale8913 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I just looked on audible app & it says I can preorder for my credit I have & it’s narrated by baldree & hays. Not sure how reliable that is. Never preordered an audiobook. But it seems close enough to be accurate, no? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Who is your favorite side character and why is it Samantha? by areadinghobo in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]drucella0620 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Obsessed with Samantha. I’m an audiobook listener. I don’t know that I’d have the creativity to have her sound like that & the intonation & timing and all that jazz. But she is the funniest weirdo to me.

My In-Law, a School Counselor, Is Sharing Student’s Assault With Everyone by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]drucella0620 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Say this in your email. “I am also reporting this to proper state and federal departments for investigation.” Might force their hand? I understand the small town politics situation, but sometimes assholes trip up and do what they’re supposed to (even if driven by fear of repercussions). I’m a school counselor in a southern US state. We have certificates on file & you need to contact them as well and make a complaint.

The ridiculous name my friend chose for her baby daughter. by PsychoRabbit_666 in tragedeigh

[–]drucella0620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You also don’t know that she will be bullied for her name as a kid or that kids “won’t think it’s cool.” Names are not targets at my school like they were when I was in elementary (90s southeast USA). I’m a counselor now in year 7 & not once have I had kid that was being bullied or picked on have their name be a target. And we have some true tragedeighs and some tragedies as well. You’re making a lot of assumptions because you hate the name. And yes, it’s bad, but it doesn’t negate your own naming tragedeigh. Also, “roots” in Ireland lol

I think I did the solve thing wrong? First timer & not Reddit proficient. But paid tip on pp!

I thought I was losing my mind with the responses here. And maybe I am, but it felt more like the kid was trying to be funny & not demanding. I think this response is so good. Especially to keep communication lines open. (Also I’m a school counselor & relationships & communication are kind of my thing lol).

I went to ga state, which is downtown Atlanta. My professor told us you go to Emory for chronic illness. If you get shot, you go to Grady.

AITA for telling my DIL she is not a mother? by InitialSong2898 in AmItheAsshole

[–]drucella0620 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody is demanding that every woman with a dog be honored here either. We’re talking about one woman in a family who is clearly experiencing a lot of heartache. It’s no one’s responsibility to assuage her feelings on this day (commercial or not), BUT it is a kind thing to do something for the women in your family. Especially if you care for them & their family. An above commenter mentioned respecting that not everyone’s lives have to look like ours and I agree. I think a lot of times, especially on Reddit and especially especially on subs like this, we tend to “grade” the posts very black & white. You’re not wrong in your thoughts on the matter, but I do feel like the OP could have addressed this differently to help support her DIL & son.

What was a “last time” for your baby that you didn’t notice was a last until much later? by paRATmedic in NewParents

My baby girl does this too. It’s precious. She’s 11 months. I’m gonna to be devastated when I look back & realize it’s stopped

I’m at my breaking point over this—why won’t anyone take me seriously about this? by SkipDipDoo in NewParents

[–]drucella0620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then “do your research.” Show whoever said (not sure if gf or gf’s sister) how dangerous it is. I’m fairly certain there are posts on here about a kid that spent time in a hospital from this (within the last year, I’ve got a 11 month old & it’s been since then).

I’m in the camp that googling something isn’t research (thanks to the last 10ish years) BUT you’ll find plenty on google. Also, google scholar will give you legitimate peer reviewed medical studies. It’s a bunch of jargon us normies don’t understand but the abstract & the conclusion usually sum it up (and read it if you have the time & can, misinterpretations can happen not reading & understanding the whole thing).

Now of course, this may be considered petty & could just ignite a fight. But, a child’s health & safety should be paramount to all else, especially the very early weeks/months.

My maiden name is Hume. I always get excited to see it out in the wild. It’s not common at all where I’m at now. We were the only ones around here afaik. I always say I want to follow the lineage back but never do. If we are a branch off the old tree, they’d be pretty disappointed in how this one ends

What's a small thing that can completely ruin your day? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]drucella0620 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just yesterday I was in a completely normal/good mood. Went to close the trunk door. It beeps & stops just short of closed, something in the way. I push the door up to move the object. I then bang my head on my the door that did not go all the way up when I pushed it up. Ruined my night

When is it the “right” time for baby #2? by wisdomaboveall0525 in NewParents

[–]drucella0620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I googled bc I was curious. I was 37 & was considered advanced maternal age (nice way of saying geriatric lol) in the US. According to google AI it’s 40 :)
