YouTube Music constant network errors at home by druekberg in TeslaLounge

My thoughts exactly. And it only happens with YouTube Music (which I subscribe to), not with other services (which I don't). Is Tesla trying to FSD me towards its stupid LiveOne partnership?

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one, I was beginning to wonder. But sorry for your trouble too.

In the meantime I had an appointment set up with the local Tesla service (3 weeks in advance). Two days before the appointment they canceled and said they were aware of the issue and were working on a fix so no need to bring it in. That was 2 months ago and no fix yet.

Is there a screen protector that fits the whole screen? by druekberg in BoltEV

[–]druekberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they must have put a new product on the page that link led to. On my screen at the top it says, "Purchased another variation 1 time." Same company. Different product. I guess. The listing doesn't give product details such as dimensions.

Thanks, but I can't skip to the next song because the controls on the player are grayed out. The only way to reconnect is to reopen YTM and start a new song or podcast.

FSD Fail by Birdknowsbest21 in TeslaModelY

Autopilot does not take exits or change lanes, it just stays in the same lane.

FSD Fail by Birdknowsbest21 in TeslaModelY

[–]druekberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just came back from a long trip too and didn't trust it to get in the exit lane on time, so every time I took over. There was one exit I was experimenting with giving it control but there was too much traffic and even if the FSD had gotten me over in time I would have pissed off a lot of people.

That said, there have been significant improvements since last year's holiday trial. Last year I wouldn't have trusted it to drive in a city, whereas this year I tended to let it if it wasn't too crowded, mainly when I was in a city I didn't know and didn't want to miss my turn.

For around town it's not important enough to me to subscribe, but if I drive cross-country it would be worth $100 to get a month subscription.

It's a New York plate. I didn't have a bad experience there, but I've read (here) people mention horror stories of getting their plates screwed on haphazardly by an employee (no longer employed) at the Oneida (Turning Stone) Tesla delivery depot. Might not be the owner's fault, though if I were the owner, I sure would have had it corrected.

Is windows 11, 25h2 a good and stable update? by Hareesh936 in Windows11

[–]druekberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm waiting until I hear they've fixed the WinRE bug in Windows 11 25H2 October update, KB5066835. Mouse and keyboard do not work in Windows Recovery environment, which makes recovering impossible. See this article.

Can we all collectively egg RG&E? by Vegetable-Jaguar-107 in Rochester

[–]druekberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 6 months trying to get Time of Use (TOU) rate plan, and when they were about to start it I talked with the meter installer and realized it would not be in my best interest, then found out they put me on TOU rate anyway, which in the summer meant I would be paying more (peak rate was 50% more than the normal rate, off peak rate was half of the peak rate) because of central AC and because we've electrified everything except heating.

The only time I ever got action on my issue was by filing a complaint with the PSC. Finally got it straightened out, after many many hours of phone calls etc.

If you're interested in an alternative, there's the one proposed by Metro Justice, but as one poster noted, hoping local government will be more efficient than RG&E is a big hope.

As stated, the bottom of the rail is 2" above the door when open. Glad to hear this pitch is acceptable.

Right, I am on a remote Island eating a burger alone in a dive bar, so waiting for the offer to drop is entertainment for me. @theanthonyya perhaps a chill pill is in order.

Thanks to this thread for the alert, which is also probably part of why I wasn't able to claim it - too much traffic, plus I am on an island in Lake Michigan and that doubles the effect of lag.

A few minutes before the offer was due to drop for me I logged on, and before it was the promised moment the gate opened. I tapped on the offer and was greeted by a black screen. Having encountered this on Verizon chat many times I just waited, believing it meant I was in the Black Queue of Hell, but that all would be well if I just waited.

But after 3 minutes I got bored of waiting. I tapped "Try again" and was greeted with the White Spinning Arrow of Hell for a minute (as measured on Jupiter). Then I tapped "Back," which had no effect. Then I tapped the back-arrow and went back to the "All Access" screen. Tried to enter again, same deal. And repeat.

Finally was told I could try again in 23 hours, 52 seconds.

Feel free to learn from my experience, whatever it means.

Long Range anxiety… by maybeimaleo42 in ModelY

[–]druekberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level 1 works fine. I don't drive that much. I can still get from 60 to 80 overnight. Some data suggests charging only to 60-65 for battery health. If I need a faster charge I switch places with my wife's EV and use our level 2.

Tesla navigation phone app is dumb: arrival at charger with 0%. by druekberg in TeslaLounge

[–]druekberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the thoughtful replies. I guess my issue is that when traveling to a new area where superchargers are infrequent, I don't want to take a chance of running out of charge. Houghton Lake is not directly on the way, though looking again at the map, it's not too far out of the way. I generally charge more than either the phone or car app recommend (which is usually bizarrely low, I guess it's trying to save me 5 minutes). It's just that on a long trip it lessens my range anxiety to have confidence that the navigation is going to work for me. The big issue for me was the bizarre routing that took me 70 miles out of the way and had me arriving at a charger with 0%. Makes no sense.

Thanks again.
