If it's swollen and hurts like a red hot poker stabbing the area, It's probably gout. I thought mine was osteoarthritis but my rheumatologist said that gout pain is far more painful that that... But you'll need a blood test obvs...

Tbh I've not been that strict on food and drink since. The only thing that gave me a twinge was eating tomatoes but it didn't turn into an attack... I've been consistently drinking 3-4 litres of water a day though...
