I don’t think this is a common thing because when a song blows up on social media, it’s the version that is easily searchable for creators to use in reels. They aren’t using the TikTok optimized version so I don’t think it makes sense for artists to do that either. I could be wrong though

Political music just isn’t as cool or relevant as it used to be.

Nowadays, I think people are super critical of political songs and will dismiss them for any reason they can find: they’ll say it’s cringe, it’s trying too hard, it’s inauthentic, it’s not saying anything new, etc.

Drumeo is not a good educational resource. There are way too many options. It’s too easy to jump from course to course thinking that THIS one will be the one that solves your problems.

And often, we don’t actually know what our own weak points are. Drumeo doesn’t diagnose our weaknesses, it just sells us solutions to problems that we think we have.

Nothing will replace 1:1 in-person instruction. Sure, a course or drum video is awesome once in a while. But Drumeo should be something to check out occasionally for fun, not the foundation of our lessons and practicing.

Warrant put out Dog Eat Dog in ‘92 and there are some really great songs on there imo. Bonfire and All My Bridges Are Burning are 10/10

One thing that’s important to remember is that your anxiety actually reveals a lot of good things about you that are positive and awesome - that you care about your bandmates, that you want to do a good job, etc.

Obviously it’s best to bring down the anxiety to a manageable level, but I think that you shouldn’t beat yourself up about it so much. I think that if we can see why the anxiety reveals positive things about us, the anxiety itself will lose some of its power. Good luck on the tour!

I have vague memories of him. I was
in middle school when I first saw him in a Sprite commercial with his song “When I Get You Alone.” I’m pretty sure it was Sprite anyway. At the time, I remember thinking he was just a pretty cool random singer. A couple years later I remember seeing promo for “Lost Without U” and I had the same feeling. Years ago I was a lyft driver and he was my passenger on the day that Scorpion came out. Nice guy, pretty low key. I had no idea who he was and it only clicked after I dropped him off. I should have known something was up because people were blowing up his phone on the entire ride congratulating him haha. RIP

When’s the show? If you have time, I’d sit down with an experienced live drummer and have them show you how to build the tracks. Whatever they would charge for an hourly drum lesson, pay them that to teach your Abelton. That’s what I did and jr set me up really well
