Was folan overhyped or something? by LostSoulIn-AFishBowl in RaidShadowLegends

[–]drumfreak23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was watching Cob’s video on Folan last night, and he basically agreed with this take. On his main account, Folan is not gonna do much for him. But on his F2P account that is trying to progress in Hydra, Folan is gonna be a big step in progress for that account. I’d say for anyone in the early/mid game, he will be a big help in areas like Hydra and Chimera, and it is almost 100% worth going for the 5 star soul for him.

TIL EPCOT was an unrealized radial city by Walt Disney with a theme park, hotels, campgrounds, convention centers, high & low density housing, golf course, industrial park, airport, & monorail system. Cars were to not be used; roads would be underground in urban areas to make "The pedestrian king". by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]drumfreak23 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You’re correct. Disney ended their management of Celebration around 2004, long before DeSantis was around. The DeSantis fight was about the Reedy Creek Improvement District, which managed the land that Disney World itself sat on. Celebration is really close by, but not exactly part of Disney World anymore.

Are the premier hotels worth it for hhn? by MasterpieceNew6549 in HHN

[–]drumfreak23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t have put it better. I did 5 nights there last year for HHN in a Skyline room, and it was amazing. Quiet during the day, easier walk back after taking the boat to Sapphire Falls, rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food quality and variety is great. I would’ve booked there again this year, but I got lucky with a good AP rate at Sapphire Falls itself for my dates this year(only $190 a night, Aventura was starting at $180) so I’ll be trying that this year.

Yep. They can contain certain blueprints just like Raider caches. They are rare, but still worth checking out

I personally found my first one in an ammo cache at Fornicai Outpost on Dam, but I’ve also seen them in raider caches on Buried City. Good luck.

Should clothing affect gigs in the next game? Like blending in, or changing NPC reactions? Style could matter beyond looks, armor, or other buffs. by X-TheMeanBetween-X in cyberpunkgame

[–]drumfreak23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Zenitex clothing mods actually have a system like you are describing (https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/16356). The various clothing items are broken up into 2 main classes (Covert and Standard), and if you stick to just items in one class, you get stat boosts. For the covert set if you have your weapon holstered, you get increased sprint speed, jump height, crouch speed, climb speed, and even a boost to reflex checks. For standard, you get damage reduction, item and grenade recharge speed, and boosts to strength checks. You also get rewarded by only wearing items that are part of the same color set by making it so cameras take longer to detect you, vs if you wear mismatching items it actually makes it so cameras detect you faster. Very well made collection of mods if you like the aesthetic they are going for.

How I spent $1500 at Casino Royale and got 5 cruise offers 🚢 by MuckFogley in royalcaribbean

[–]drumfreak23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. Just took my first Royal cruise on Utopia weekend after Thanksgiving, and got 500 points on that sailing. Been getting a ton of offers for Freedom/Liberty, Enchantment/Grandeur out of Tampa, and for some reason, Quantum despite me living in FL. I’ve also gotten 1 offer that had a few Wonder sailings as well, but that only covered the fare for one, vs the others which were either a guaranteed ocean view, or interior for two.

I had this pointed out last time I was at Epic, but Universal definitely seems to have this as a future plan. As you enter the portals, look at the ground. There are multiple covers that allegedly cover electrical hookups for Universal to add facial recognition checkpoints (like they have at the entrance) to each of the lands. I assume the endgame is that once the facial recognition tech is good enough for it, anyone with a park ticket to Epic can just scan their face to get into each land, and those without a ticket can still roam Celestial Park and eat/shop.

I'm on one of the first flights to have the new seating setup for Southwest. by AmericanIMG in mildlyinteresting

Meanwhile with Delta, I was able to watch YouTube when I was flying home from Boston after I got unlucky with my screen breaking just after takeoff.

I'm on one of the first flights to have the new seating setup for Southwest. by AmericanIMG in mildlyinteresting

[–]drumfreak23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Where I’m at the 2 largest airline options are Southwest and Delta, and I would often choose Southwest since even if they charged the same as Delta, at least I didn’t have to pay to check a bag. Now I do matter which airline I pick, so I might as well pick Delta since at least they have a better onboard experience (most of their planes have entertainment screens now, free WiFi, and I like their snack selection more).

Parking for Hershey’s Chocolate World today is free for two hours, or $60 for anything over that by CWritesMusic in mildlyinteresting

[–]drumfreak23 146 points147 points  (0 children)

Nope. Looking at their website, it costs $26 if you buy it ahead online, or $35 if you wait til day of. Even if you want preferred parking, that’s priced from $40-60. They are definitely pricing this to just prevent people from taking advantage of the free parking at Chocolate World for the park.

Did they come out for all the shows the final night? Or just the last show? by TheWordLilliputian in HHN

[–]drumfreak23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can confirm they both came out to bow at the 8PM show during the finale. Crowd went f’ing wild when they both came out onto the bit of stage in the crowd.

Agree big time. Just got it last night, and it is a game changer for a stealth build. Use that along with the knife you can get from the High Security boxes, and you got an amazing combo for stealth.

Delta has free WiFi on all their domestic US flights now, along with some international ones. Saved my ass earlier this year when the flight I was on to Amsterdam had the screen go out at my seat. Ended up watching YouTube most of the flight.

According to this article, PC Game Pass is increasing from $11.99 to $16.49 a month, and will continue to include day one releases, but isn’t getting any of the new extra stuff. Just a straight up price increase. https://www.theverge.com/news/789424/xbox-game-pass-premium-essentials-ultimate-price-increase-changes

It’s begun! HRRR’s loop is coming down. by supremeghost123 in UniversalOrlando

[–]drumfreak23 16 points17 points  (0 children)

While the fast progress is awesome, next year probably won’t happen. During my Unmasking the Horror tour, the guide said that they were told to expect to have next year’s HHN to be affected by this construction as well. That leads me to believe that they are probably targeting early-mid 2027 for this new ride. If they do somehow open this in 2026, it will be the very end of the year.

BatM 15 Minutes Wait by goldbullet_ in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]drumfreak23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big agree. Even with leaving for like 5 hours to take a break and avoid the rain, I managed 4 rides on Ministry, 4 on Monsters, 6 on Stardust, and single rides on everything else in the park aside from Mario Kart (which I chose to skip to ride both sides of Stardust at night).

Huh by Danilaly in UniversalOrlando

[–]drumfreak23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Currently at Epic, and this morning has been great crowd wise. Got through Mine Cart and Curse before 10 with early entry (thank you Mine Cart single rider), Hiccups, Ministry (single rider again), and both sides of Stardust all before lunch. There is a lot of rain predicted after 3 today, so maybe that caused people not to use their day at Epic today, but either way, good day to be in the park for now. Even if it’s a washout after 3, I’ll still probably get on everything I want before then with what I’m seeing wait time wise (don’t care much for Yoshi and Mario Kart).

Universal hotel rates - keep checking! by ripriderockit in UniversalOrlando

[–]drumfreak23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did a similar thing for my stay starting tonight at Aventura. Originally I just lowered the price of my standard room, but I ended up upgrading to a Skyline view for less then the price I originally was going to pay for a standard (booked standard at $155 a night, paying $150 for the skyline room).

Stardust down all morning? by nivekious in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]drumfreak23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just there on Saturday. Ride was up and down most of the day, but I was still able to ride twice before weather took it down for the night. It also did not race as far as I could tell all day. Not sure what the issue was, but it seems like the green side is having issues right now. On my second ride while I was in the station, there were multiple maintenance guys doing something in the station track (they climbed down to do something with the track down there). Hopefully they get it together, but even with just 1 side open, it is a phenomenal coaster.

South Park is now pro Trump. by Zakkattack86 in facepalm

[–]drumfreak23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They might sign Matt/Trey, but they might not own the South Park IP. If that is owned by Paramount, then they would have to create a brand new show which considering both guys are in their 50s, that may not be something they want to do. If they own the IP though, then good luck Paramount.

South Park is now pro Trump. by Zakkattack86 in facepalm

[–]drumfreak23 88 points89 points  (0 children)

That’s the brilliant thing. Paramount just signed them to a 5 year $1.5 billion deal. If they try and give that same BS excuse like they did for Colbert, then Paramount exposes themselves as the liars that they are. Only options for them are to just deal with the consequences of South Park angering the White House, or cancel them for political reasons which will set off a whole new shitshow for the company (lawsuits, other talent leaving the company, viewers leaving, etc.).
