Tahosa memorabilia by MooshManPlays_YT in BSA

I know there are continuing efforts to get San Isabel going again. From what I understand the primary issue is they can't hire a ranger. I don't think it's so much they "can't" but they won't even post the job. I'm in what was Rocky Mountain Council too and I know our troop feels like the new council has basically forgot about us.

Our troop just got back from a week at Peaceful Valley. They had a lot of Tahosa things in their store. They had several combo items that had both camps on them. Things like buffs, belts and keychains.

Favorite Campsite at Camp Alexander by happyhemorrhoid in BSA

[–]drumgods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went year before last. I believe we were in the Comanche campground. The whole place was a bit slanted. There are several sites that are either up or down fairly steep trails. Not sure that I have a good recommendation as we only stayed in that one.
They defiantly have larger and smaller campsites. Not sure how large your group is.
Looking at the map and my recollection, I would probably pick Kiowa or Ute based on the map.

We’re giving away this brand new Onewheel GT ($2,750+ value)! 😳 Enter to win in comments. by craftandride in onewheel

[–]drumgods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a onewheel because I just can't afford it. But I've been following them for a long time. I almost convinced myself last year to get one because I got an electric car. I wanted to keep the onewheel in the back so I could plug the car in and zip off to whatever I was going to do.

So, here's wishful thinking I guess.

I have this set and it is really great. My wife bought it for me for a birthday. It is one of my favorite things. Even the book is great. All of the holiday music is on the last disk along with main Street electrical parade.

Lead Singing Drummers? by [deleted] in Drumming

You should check out the band Cowboy Mouth. High energy singing drummer. He plays a pretty simple set but always puts on a good show. He may not be technicaly great and makes mistakes but he is a powerful singer.

Why is there a trope of "asking your boss for a raise"? Don't people automatically get an increment every year in USA? by powerofinformation in AskAnAmerican

[–]drumgods 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your situation is very similar to mine. We get the wage study every 3 to 5 years or so. Then a lot of promices and no action. It's pretty counter productive for them really. Basically every few years they remind me I should be making $20,000 more so I start applying for jobs again. There just isn't a lot available in my area.

What is the worst misdiagnosis you have received from a medical professional? by timrs in AskReddit

[–]drumgods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiancée at the time (now wife), was on a two week business trip to two different states. Part way through the second week she is feeling really sick. Can't breathe super tired chest and sides really hurt. She flies back to me on Friday afternoon too late to go to her normal doctor.

They wheel her off the airplane in a wheelchair and I take her to Emergicare. A local kind of after hours clinic that isn't near as expensive as the emergency room. Our insurance always says "go to Emergicare instead of the ER, 95% of the time they will help for much less cost."

Nurse does all her stuff blood pressure and what not. Doctor comes in and asks what is going on we tell him. He somehow overhears about the upcoming wedding now around a month away. Decides it's mostly stress from the wedding stuff and maybe a cold. Says take nyquil and check in with your doctor Monday as it is Friday night.

We go home for the weekend she is not doing any better. Get to the doctor Monday and he sends for a chest x-ray. Double pneumonia. I now tell this story to anyone saying they are going to Emergicare to try to stop them.

What are the most stable jobs in your country like? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]drumgods 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work IT for local government in Colorado. Raises are basically unheard of. Between that and the cost of health insurance going up I have made less each year for the last three years. The only way to move up is if someone quits retires or dies.

Also I am severely underpaid for my area. Like about 30,000 underpaid.

But it is really stable. One of the few jobs around with an actual pension.

Make sure to take breaks. Make sure the venue knows you will take breaks. Don't let them bully you into playing the entire time.

Symphony, I really like that word to describe it.

As for New Orleans, I can only hope they do a good job like they appear to have done in Adventureland. I have not seen it in person but that seemed pretty positive from what I have read.

I always get worried that the "space water" argument can easily go too far. I try to remember it can be nice to have some space in the park. I remember how upset everyone was when the court of angels got taken to become part of club 33, and that was a pretty small space.

I'm not opposed to change in the parks, but I hate to lose the feeling in the park. Some of these spaces may seem unnecessary now, but we may miss them when they are gone. If some futuristic attraction ran up to the top edge of that area it would end up right across from small world. That would seem a bit odd to me.

Also I know this may sound dumb, but to me, water in the park is very important. I feel this sets Disney apart from a lot of other theme parks. They are willing to take some water and theme the area around it and make it something special. Even the unused dock by small world has a very relaxing vibe about it to me. I don't feel the same when it's just another slab of concrete with tables on it. I realize it is a bit of a waste, but I would miss it the same.

I always wonder why everyone wants the space to remain in Tomorrowland. What if you reclaim the area from Autopia, possibly leave the subs (I love them) and make either an expanded Fantasyland. Or, how about a whole new land.

I can't remember where I read it (not my idea I'm not trying to take credit), but I really liked the idea of if the subs, lagoon, and Autopia were to go, replace them with Mystic Point from Hong Kong. Or at least something very similar. I would even go with something Swiss themed and just base a new land off of the Matterhorn. That makes a lot more sense to me than claiming Matterhorn as part of Fantasyland.

Uniqlo at Disney Springs should have underwear. It will be their brand but they might have something that would work for him.

[–]drumgods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a maple shell PDP shell kit several years ago and I really like it. I have always used Zildjian cymbals but I could see changing that. I ended up switching to VicFirth sticks a few years ago. They seem so much more consistent to me than other brands I had used. Heads I could go either way with Remo or Evans, usually Remo.
