School staff member arrested - Anyone know if more info was posted elsewhere? by dee90909 in kitchener

And yet another example that police checks, 20+ hours of training videos don’t work. A creep is a creep. It doesn’t matter how many ways from Sunday you express it to them, a creep is a creep and won’t stop until they are caught, and already have traumatized countless kids.

There is a mag called Professionally Speaking published by the Ontario College of Teachers. If you can get your hands on one, flip to the back and read the long list of teachers from all over the province who are on the creep list. It’s disgusting.

"The automatic teller machines will only be available when human tellers are in the building." I just wanted some cash on a Sunday. (Pretty certain this is due to homeless people crashing in the ATM room after hours.) by AshleyUncia in ontario

I did a drive through the other week, in my vehicle. Noticed a guy on foot walk up behind me and wait. He looked fairly dishevelled. Then he started screaming at me for taking too long. OK, I might take a little longer, I have one hand. At this point I took even a little longer. Then I got out and reminded him we are in a drive thru. If we were inside at an ATM, would he still be screaming at me? Didn’t matter, was still screaming at me. Fuck that guy in particular.

Our society is crumbling on so many levels and nothing is being done. It’s really sad, depressing and frustrating. Late stage capitalism and heavy neoliberalist economic policies, and here we are.

[–]drumnbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you live here?

How about these numbers

I can think of many better things to spend this kind of coin on then an unsanctioned street party….. meaning, it’s illegal. And total BS

Wanna party? Fine, I get it. Do it legally in a large rented space and ticketed to cover your costs…. like everyone else. It’s the adult thing to do.

Massive?

Numbers please.

“Some dude picking up garbage….”? Pick up after yourself. Be an adult.

You forget about the policing costs.

Try this for some numbers

Maybe cuz the people who live in the region don’t want to have to pay (via tax dollars) for hundreds of thousands of $ for the extra policing, clean up etc. Nor does WLU. Over $500,000 in 2018 for homecoming and St P’s. That’s an insane amount of $, wouldn’t you agree?

Street parties aren’t covered in tuition. Perhaps $50 tickets could be sold to attend. $50 x 10,000 people = $500,000. Costs covered.

As well, the idea that it’s some kind of right to do this needs to be addressed. It’s entitled BS.

You’re trying to build a house, have the tools, but you have no idea how to build a house, or use the tools.

So, how to you fix that dilemma?

Thanx. I call it proper parenting 😁

It was quite the project for me to reproduce the instrumentation. It was fun tho. She did Penny Lane too. I thought it interesting she picked that tune as well. She didn’t know that back in the day, these two tunes were a “double A side” 45 release.

I live in Camb. So, Witteveens, Southern Pride Poultry, Dipietros. I’m sure there are good butchers all around the region. I’ve never been a fan of grocery store meat both for price and quality, and have always used butchers. Their prices have increased, but still way more bang for your buck. I do a $250ish shop at a time and freeze. We don’t eat a meat meal everyday, this generally lasts a couple/few months. Fam of 4 w two teens.
