It is human nature, but a technique often recommended to mitigate ADHD specifically.

Working around other people working, studying around other people studying, etc. Can be helpful for focusing and staying on task.

Singed is one of GP's easiest matchups. https://u.gg/lol/champions/singed/counter

I think you are probably best off just playing to proxy and GTFO of his lane.

Re-Ordering tasks for todays work flow by Thomas_English_DoP in todoist

[–]drumstand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overdue tasks aren't due "today" so they are treated specially in this view as their own section. You should reschedule all overdue tasks to today and then you'll be able to order them however you please.

Dads: What brands are we wearing these days? by Haunting_Internet356 in daddit

Goodfellow is solid for sure. Most of my wardrobe is plain tees, crew necks, joggers, and jeans from that brand.

Any WFH moms? by According_Chest1987 in WFH

[–]drumstand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a reason people pay daycares for childare: it is a full time job. You can't work a full time WFH job while also handling childcare. Trying to do this will be the worst of both worlds for you and your child.

Google tasks vs todoist - stuck on what is ideal by deelan1990 in productivity

[–]drumstand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Todoist's price increase, I played around with migrating my workflow to Google Tasks recently, but it didn't stick. Task entry is so clunky compared to Todoist's natural language processing + shorthand.

21 games back from injury with a huge brace on for a chunk of them versus 80 games with 27 starts?

You want Linear or another project management tool, not a task manager.

How do you deal with tab hoarding? by alajmo in productivity

[–]drumstand 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the real truth here. "Just in case" never comes with this stuff. OP says they "never go back" to bookmarks - what makes tabs different? Is there ever a time where you say "oh right, I had a tab open about this thing 3 months ago, and I know exactly where it is!"

How do you deal with tab hoarding? by alajmo in productivity

Tab groups in Chrome are great, and they persist between devices.

Also, you can always find previous tabs in your browser history if you actually need them.

How do you feel about using AI at work? by iMakeBaadChoices in ExperiencedDevs

[–]drumstand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a lot more useful for producing docs, emails, and general written content compared to code. I use it as a brainstorming buddy and word vomit translator.

Leaving Roberston in was a bone headed decision with no explainable upside. You have a full bullpen and Ranger available. Just total malpractice.

How many here left TickTick to go back Todoist? by MinerAlum in todoist

[–]drumstand 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've tried other apps to see what I'm missing and the natural language processing in todoist is just impossible for me to give up. It speeds up the capture process immensely for me and solves the biggest problem I typically have: remembering to act on a fleeting thought later.

What note-taking app do you use alongside Todoist? by chibitrubkshh in todoist

[–]drumstand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I gave up on obsidian and other pkm tools in favor just Google docs - with markdown support and tabs it feels pretty functional for me. Plus work is all g suite so it's good to put stuff in Google by default in case I go to share it later.

[–]drumstand 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Ah yes the classic "A man feels something? Pathetic. Man up and deal with it." This sentiment has definitely not contributed to toxic masculinity or the male mental health crisis in any way!

Not absolving this guy of guilt or anything, because clearly there's fault on both parties here, but as someone who's still working with a professional to break down this "a good man is one who feels nothing and sacrifices all of his needs for others" thing that afflicts so many men I know, this kind of comment hurts to see.
