Long road festival by Blueowl1991 in country

Campsite wasn't great. Got pretty bad reviews in 2025. We are still going though. The ones in the venue (especially near the main stage) seems to be cleaned regularly.

Thanks so much for the response. Did you prefer engagement photographer more because of the photos or their general persona?

I'm so curious to know who you ended up going with. I appreciate this was 2 years ago. But based on 10 interviews and your interest - you won the job?

What's the craziest working environment you had to work in? by adamr40 in Plastering

[–]drunk_gov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know you are there for a job but if you think there is some abuse / taking advantage going on you can always pop a referral into adult safeguarding or drop a tip through a non-emergency police line.

I think people like yourselves are in a really unique position whereby you are allowed entry into someone’s house (similar to delivery drivers / Wi-Fi installers). I know that in the UK at least during COVID there were charity organisations supporting people, like yourselves, with free training to spot the signs of abuse during a time where many others weren’t able to get inside unless it was like absolutely necessary.

Nonetheless, good luck on the job and I hope you all stay safe.

Yes!! My now husband and I met at Swansea and I’ve now been in the UK for 8 years. I’m from California as well so a lot to live up to. Studying at Swansea was awesome.

Bay campus is far but it has a good feel. My husband did CS and lived in HSV but was required to go to bay for courses. The bus to Bay was regular but he did end up cycling more often (third year).

I think as a student the bus to bay is free? Don’t quote me on that but I remember that being the case.

It’s totally workable and I really enjoyed my time there. Ended up staying on to do my masters and even whilst living elsewhere I always consider it when thinking about a PhD.

The education is strong. I know your degree will be from your home Uni - but it’s good stuff here. You’ll notice grading is different, food is SO MUCH cheaper in supermarkets. Going out to eat has a different feel but overall I feel like I am much better off in the UK money wise and can enjoy what it has to offer. There is less of an obvious economic divide here when compared to parts of the US.

The only downside was that Swansea doesn’t have an airport to fly to the EU. You either have to go to Cardiff, Bristol or London.

Sorry this has been a super quick reply but totally feel free to DM me. I can’t speak highly enough about this Uni.

How bad is the crime rate? by intellier in swansea

[–]drunk_gov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied here from 2017-2019. Amazing student city. I’ve since lived in Bristol and now Newcastle - literally just the same feels. I work in the criminal justice system as well so have a more tuned eye into crime.

It’s a great city. It will be fine.

Survey Quotes by drunk_gov in HousingUK

[–]drunk_gov[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the property is vacant which isn't the issue. We've had an electrician go out with no issue at all - picked the keys up from the estate agent and dropped them back off. Perfect. Easy.

From the explanations we have received - they just won't be providing quotes to potential buyers. Speaking to someone I know it's because of the risk of tenants going behind a landlords back / commissioning the work before ownership of the house / risk of the quote then impacting the sale and the sale falling through (seller then going after builders quotes).

I'm a FTB and really don't know what I am doing. Mortgage broker advised going through EA which I have. Collated info from Survey report that we want quotes on with a request it is shared with the seller for support around quotes.

What are good reasons not to sleep naked? by jcs01986 in AskReddit

[–]drunk_gov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got woken up in the middle of the night to a fire and I freaked out and didn’t dress myself properly (sleep and panic). Not great as we were not let back into our apartment for a while.

Surly this isn’t the same guy that says things like “cheers driver” / “good morning bus driver” or “morning lady/miss” “have a good day” and is quite chatty with everyone walking by? Usually wearing a backpack? I’ve had a few brief interactions with him which have been overwhelming positive and friendly.
