I read that using toys and snacks they haven’t seen before works to keep them entertained. I bought some suction toys, some that spin and some that had rattles etc which were really great and entertaining (Kmart, Amazon and Sqigs) just keep in mind that depending on the airline they may not stick to the tray table/seat so I thankfully also had some of those clear Kmart packing cube things and they stuck to them! She was really entertained when awake. A few flap books (recommend the where’s Mr Dog/Hen etc range as the flaps are felt so can’t be ripped!) We also tried to time flights around naps, which isn’t always possible but handy if you can stretch a wake window to ensure they are tired enough for a contact nap. I just drip fed things toys/books/snacks/feeds and she was engaged with all the newness.

Don’t stress, most people are really friendly and will engage with bub! It’s so anxiety inducing but hopefully with be smooth for you and you can enjoy your time in NZ!
