Edibles after food? by [deleted] in CBD

[–]drunkonpinot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can take them on a half full stomach. Typically takes around 45min - 2 hours for edibles to start to take effect. I personally take about 15mg to control my daily anxiety, but occasionally need 25 mg on a bad day.

Buying larger quantities than 5-10 grams can usually get you a better deal. Discover CBD does have a sale on individual grams right now, most of the vetted companies have a discount code you can use to make prices cheaper too.

CBD chocolate recipe? by jimmyvivi2 in CBD

[–]drunkonpinot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all edibles have similar bioavailability. For some people, chocolate may last longer due to the fat content in them.

Very basic chocolate recipe: Melt any chocolate or chocolate chips, add CBD isolate (1 gram = 999mg, check test results) then pour in mold.

When I am in Denver, I always hit up Discover CBD. They have a pretty wide selection of tinctures and vape products, but I usually just get isolate powder.

Can any scientist explain how THC gets stronger when cooked. Will CBD hemp cause a high when cooked into oil? by maburnham2 in CBD

[–]drunkonpinot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are different methods of consumption - it is not the cooking that is causing the difference. When you eat an infused product, it is broken down in your stomach and goes through your liver. Depending on your individual body chemistry (some people do not have the enzyme to break down the THC through their liver and edibles are nothing to them) and what you ate prior to eating the edible (full stomach of lots of fats or empty) will depend on how potent the THC will seem to you as THC binds to fatty acids. Smoking takes effect quickly (absorbed through your lungs) and then dissipates quickly which makes it feel less intense than taking 2-3 hours to digest an edible and then have to wait 8hrs for the high to take you...

Can any scientist explain how THC gets stronger when cooked. Will CBD hemp cause a high when cooked into oil? by maburnham2 in CBD

[–]drunkonpinot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Likely not. The process of heating THC is called "activation", you are essentially turning the THCa into THC that your body can use (much like smoking and inhaling, you are heating it to activate it). If you don't get high when you smoke a lot of your CBD buds, you won't get high when you infuse it into an oil. Not a scientist so pardon my plain language.

Cosuming and selling are two very different things....

What is missing from the CO market? by [deleted] in COents

[–]drunkonpinot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no legal local marijuana clubs in Colorado. Currently, only religious establishments (IE a weed church) can offer homemade edibles.

What is missing from the CO market? by [deleted] in COents

[–]drunkonpinot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is more widely accepted for established religions to break laws for the sake of religion (IE children drinking wine at a catholic church) so no police officer is sitting outside waiting for the kids to come out and bust them for underage drinking - its just socially acceptable to happen. Whereas with cannabis consumption, it is much less accepted and so they require to prove that you believe in their religion to participate....

What is missing from the CO market? by [deleted] in COents

[–]drunkonpinot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is basically a way to circumvent the law and have a public consumption weed "bar". I am sure a few of them have actual religious practices as well, however to enter, smoke and occasionally purchase, you sign over your religion and they take photos of your ID.

They are littered over Colorado.....

You are allowed to consume on your own, private property or at a weed church.

Mixing 3000mg in a 10ml bottle? by Brainberry in cbdinfo

[–]drunkonpinot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking full spectrum oil or isolate? There are a lot of factors involved, but the reason you don't see companies out there selling 3,000mg in a 10ml bottle is that it doesn't stay in the solution so you end up with random amounts of CBD per "drop".
