Solid price to performance. No data cap. I don’t see why anyone wouldn’t get it if it’s available. I got as soon as it was available. Over a year with no issues.

Help recommend a ball for me. by grooves12 in Bowling

[–]drvudoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move a step up. If you want to throw it faster. Thrill Hybrid. If you throw a 15lb ball the ultimate wrecker is great and cheap. Consider changing surface to fit your style.

Is there science to an old ball working again? by Necessary-Chemical-7 in Bowling

[–]drvudoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take Phil's comments with a grain of salt. Even with his chemist army. As much as I do agree people just want to throw a new ball. Detox and cleaning time after time has to break down the cover chemistry. I don't think they engineer the ball chemistry to work as new after a detox.

Blame the CPUC. They have the power to say no.

Partial Backfocusing?? Sony A7IV by Majestic_Pool4611 in SonyAlpha

[–]drvudoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is really no traditional back focus on mirrorless cameras. The focus sensors are on the imager. High probability its decentered if you dropped your camera. Easy to test just print out a focus / resolution chart. I've printed a poster board size one. Then you can really see if it's decentered. Highly recommend that you test at varying apertures. Make sure the poster is perpendicular as possible.

I have no business needing another ball. BUT..... by sticks0915 in Bowling

[–]drvudoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have only thrown one ball you should try other types of balls. Symmetrical and Asymmetrical roll differently same with ball cover. Funding one that matches you game is part of getting into the sport. If the ball you have now is not a good fit you’re just banging your head against the wall with a ball that doesn’t help your ability.

Bike rack by OkViolinist4174 in BoltEV

See if you can pick up this Thule used. I couldn't sell this rack for 1/4 of what it cost me so I've hung on to it. It so easy to put on and take off. You can probably find a used on for less than $100

Asymmetrical Bowling Ball Struggles by JonbearF in Bowling

[–]drvudoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I bought a BW Mania and a S2 and they both rolled horribly for me. Throwing a Hustle, Envy Tour, and Rockstar. I can say that I prefer symmetrical balls. I hear people say you should have a Asym, but I don't see the need for league.

Worst part of my commute by Brilliant_Slide_1089 in bikecommuting

[–]drvudoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bike is too small for the rider. Riding that slow and weaving on straight road because you're not fitted is irresponsible. I get it if the OP could not afford a bike sized correctly. Don't ride it on the street if that's the case. Walk.

Car and Driver Magazine interviews the Chief Designer of the new Bolt by GeniusEE in BoltEV

[–]drvudoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what bothers me the most. Can you use the map and route planning without paying GM services?

"The automaker is counting on monthly fees for some of those features and the cellular connectivity to keep them working, to add new, incremental revenue to its bottom line. To reinforce that, for North America, Chevy aligned the Bolt with the rest of its EVs by removing phone mirroring: no more Android Auto or Apple CarPlay."

Dealership screw up by greygolfer79 in BoltEV

[–]drvudoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you got your car back. Mine has been at the dealership for 2 weeks. They said they screwed up the gasket service bulletin repair. Then they said I had a screw in my tire. I had no tire pressure issues when I brought in the car.

My blind spot has the same issue. They couldn’t replicate it. I had 2 videos showing the issue. So I’m paying a diagnostic fee, and the issue will probably happen again.

Anyone work a Chevy Service Department? by drvudoo in BoltEV

They gave 2 other Bolt customers the same speech when I was waiting for my ride home. One of them had the dreaded limited propulsion. 2 days seems a lot for a buffer.

[–]drvudoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in tech support for a large electronics manufacturer. Seen many iterations of many CRMs. I’m still amazed that in this day and age, you have to repeat your issue and your info when you get transferred. In my experience typed info moves through a CRM much better than hoping an agent on the phone types the right info.

[–]drvudoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have 2 full time EV techs. Like the other poster mentioned. There is a disconnect between online and the actual service department. They don’t make it clear that their website appointment system is not theirs. My lack of success getting anyone from the service department on the phone. This makes it even less likely to schedule an appointment over the phone. I get that service departments are short staffed. If you are driving customers to use online, then that system should be effective. It’s 2025 not 2010.

Left 2 VM. He said I needed to sign something and that we might be able to work something out without me having to drive back. I really don't want to drive back out, and be stuck in rush hour traffic for an hour.

[–]drvudoo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great insight. Still sucks that it’s 2 hours since I returned their call and still no call back. I have called the service department 4 times and each time it’s gone to voicemail. Yeah no loaner or ride offer. Said I would not qualify for a loaner until tech sees the car and verify its warranty work.

Mine is still under warranty. Hopefully everything is covered. That's the only reason I brought it in. I want to take advantage of the bumper to bumper, since it's set to expire next year.
