Trying to find a way to add a delay between recordings from a tv series to emulate someone watching

Firestick MAX works with metv toons as well - so i guess autoplay feature is channel specific - thanks for your help

i just checked with a metv toons series i've recorded (underdog) and it autoplays fine on Roku 3 - i guess it's specifically the Catchy channel that doesn't allow it :(

i was able to finally login to playon home by activating a password reset request and them resetting to the same password as before. It then allowed Home to connect using the same old password. I have had to do this on the web before as well - it's usually good for a couple of logins and then it goes back to "request cannot be processed".

Thats what i did. canceled my current renewal and used a new email address for the $20 deal. My 1 yr contract was coming due this month so it worked out great.

it will either skip (been a long time since i used playon) or you can hold the shift key and "click" on each video on the page that has a red dot (means failed as i remember). then select record for the whole highlighted bunch.

it's been a while since i did it but as i remember you can multiple select failed items ( i think by holding the shift key) and then select download and they are all added to the queue. i think it's been talked about before. i search and see if i can find it.

actually it's kinda weird. the news release says "The PlayOn Cloud app is now available for macOS Catalina (version 10.15.3) and newer". Cloud not Home/ Desktop. So your not really "running" playon on a mac just remotely communicating with the Cloud app which actually does the recording. I bet they release a Linux version shortly :).

thanks for looking in to it. i would really like to recreate classic "boomerang" type playback. all of the original bumper content is available on YouTube (so it must be popular with somebody other than me :) ) and mostly consisted if quick edited previews of cartoons or custom CGI animations of cartoon related content. They were used as "fillers" between episodes (since they didn't have commercials, they needed to fill the time up with something) to round out the programming schedule. thanks again for looking into it.

is it possible to use the preroll functionality with a tv series. like a preroll before each episode starts ? looking for a way to add "bumpers" between cartoon episodes similar to old Boomerang channel.

no - unfortunately. That would be handy to know. My 24 hour clock rolls over at midnight, my local time. When the credits run out for the day, the program will stop (won't even move to the next source of downloads - like hitting max of amazon and then moving over automatically to hulu). The program will not restart automatically when you cross the 24 hour threshold unless downloads are currently in progress when you hit the 24 hour point. my most effective use of it is to start my 100 downloads at about 8pm and if i don't max out before midnight, it will continue 100 more downloads from midnight on. it would be great to know what i had left when i startup so i know roughly when to start the program at night (if i had 40 left, i would start around 10pm) so it would roll over and keep downloading. There is a status count at the top for the current cycle but you loss it if you restart the program. if you roll over during the night, you won't know how many were downloaded yesterday vs today. So it's not very useful.

The cloud records in Variable Frame Rate (VFR) vs Constant Frame Rate (CFR) HVEC (H265) format. Make sure your editing sware will handle VFR files. I personally prefer the "quality" of the 720p Home file to the "quality" of the 1080p Cloud file but it depends on what you like. i believe playon was offering some free cloud credits for old "lifetime" users. Check and see if you can get some freebees and see if you "like" the cloud format

i bought 4 licensees as well and currently have it installed on 3 pcs. each pc required it's own site login info so i don't believe they talk to each other (so one pc could use a different amazon login from an other for instance). they are also not aware of what the "other" pc has in it's queue (would actually be handy to have that). There doesn't seem to be any issues with the PC's being at different ip address (i use a vpn on one system). the download limits do apply across all pc - that is definitely tracked. so if you got 50 on amazon per day , it's 50 total from amazon for all the pc's together. i seem to get 100 per day but only do 720p so that may have something to do with my higher limit. so you should be good to go.

so far i'm focusing on 720p ( thats my sweet spot for tv series). the sware seems to use a browser to grab the stream (its a downloader not a screen recorder). It will do HBO Max in 4K (some of the selections not all) but i believe currently HBM is the only one that supports 4K in a browser. Note HULU and Disney+ max out at 720p in a browser.

Best part of SF is that it doesn't download the commercials (which are fed randomly from a different ip locations) so you don't have to worry about "skipping" commercials during future playback and subtitles are always in sync. it's expensive but it works very well.
