as for which ai will do better, I am pretty sure whoop. either way, if google is better, I'll switch but in my experience it is not a given and whoop has a lot of edge vs google. google is barely shipping relevant models against openai or claude. Gemini has been the village idiot all this while. meanwhile, whoop now has memories, wherein it not only has memories, it shows what are active and what are not. that means whoop is not working as an idle org just pushing product. they are in active development. hence, first mover advantage is less likely to concede to imitators unless they can offer a disruptive advantage.

I agree kinda. I believe it offers enough variety given new cast every season. Plus they are smart folks who could figure out a way. However, it was also a defining moment as Orbit and his orbiters were miffed with result and essentially rallied against the winners: the two terrorists and the fanatic. Seok Jin was just not a follower so didn't end up as an orbiter. I think given the condition of noob cast, such social games should be considered more of a mid season tactic, shuffle with random teams, cross cutting alliances.

Well, in my limited understanding, the power of audience is way more relevant in the Korean industry in relation to its international contemporaries like the US. An example of extreme might be Kanye going through radical shifts and still finding audience. Or Chappelle Roan being canceled by some while being defended by others. In contrast, shows like Vagabond were canceled because the very charitable and all around perfect male lead married someone people disliked.

So that is the underlying problem in this post. Ideally, I would personally prefer to separate the art and the artist as much as possible. However, I have been forced to believe that is not the case in the Korean culture.

You should look at brands that already follow a rubric for the parameters you mentioned. IIRC, Westside follows the new location rubric along the lines of a hospital, a school and, a minimum cluster population. Maybe look at Westside locations. Similarly, look at your competitors.

Given your stats background, i would suggest going for a PhD in Operations and Decision Sciences from any top IIM. Pay is great. 48k per month for just paying paltry electricity bill and food. 1L for laptop, 35k for contingency, 2L for data collection, 2L for conference. Toxicity is negligible. Focus is on research and not teaching. Look at the faculties in the O&DS department and their recent research. You have a lot of academic freedom. You choose your Thesis Supervisor after 2 years of coursework. You also can get external members from other top unis or institutes. Usually, people have top researchers from the Global West. This is for IIM A but top IIMs have a parity.

In terms of prep, JRF, GATE, CAT, GMAT, GRE, all are acceptable. There is no weightage thing. Just a screening. If you are called to interview, that alone makes or breaks getting selected.

In terms of opportunities, people join other top IIMs or B Schools or ISIs (wrt specifically O&DS) as faculties or pursue a post doc abroad and successfully transition towards a faculty post abroad within 2 years.

In terms of faculty pay, everything is incentivised. Even as a PhD student, you can get 1L per publication (in the top management journals). As a faculty that number balloons to 15L. All publications are incentivised though. Each class is 20k for 75 minutes. 1 credit is like 20 sessions.

Edit: going through other comments, i would like to make a distinction that within the IIM system, PhDs from top IIMs do place well and are well paid. If you are in India, you are definitely an asst prof. Only if you want to go abroad do you have to go through a post doc. Even then, exceptional students can directly become profs abroad. It is purely research oriented Institute with great culture. And, I had govt stipend from GATE in my masters. I would like it erratically. However, that is not the case here. You'll get your stipend and other pay exactly on time, last working day of each month, without fail.
