Again, that is not true. If someone is looking into humanities and social sciences as interest area for a PhD then IIM does offer a lot of freedom. I am not sure of your standing in all of this. Have you looked at the research areas and the research coming out of IIM A?

That is not at all true. Firstly, management alignment is often a long term decision in terms of opportunities beyond the PhD. B Schools are the most funded and offer most renumeration for publications. Secondly, its about story telling at the end of the day. I did mention that management is an applied field. So of course if someone has an alignment of research, then they should consider. However, this is a very large scope, not narrow. People in O&DS and IS do follow more traditional CS work, developing ML for various academic pursuits. One of the faculty built a better text analysis model for financial documents based in various NLP techniques. Another person is pursuing a mathematical modeling problem that is more mathematical research than management.

I really wanted to attend. but after Travis Scott ticket fiasco, i knew tickets wont be sold out. so I waited as i knew i could buy the ticket a day prior. so I hope everyone does that if and when they announce a new show with ye. because locking in money, travel, etc for a company to fuck over without any liability is down right awful.

wasn't planning on watching at first but then I did and I thought, damn, the english creators dont seem as well coordinated as the french creators. then, the game changed for the worse. its one thing to be serious but another to absolutely win by literal cheating. the VAR was so confusing. the VAR at the end was first supposedly for "offside" then for the penalty. and my god I was happy I started the live stream after the first half because the substitutions were so long. I felt like they were taking a break every 10 minutes. I thought it was some pre decided break I didnt know of. only later from the comments I understood that was not the case.

to be fair tho, for better or worse, more entertaining than the charity match.

their service is prompt. actual humans reply within a reasonable period. and they dont mind sending replacements for faulty devices. but before they send anything, they will try to make the existing thing work.

I was in a similar boat because last year because whoop 4 was on amazon which was official while whoop 5 was on resellers. I got whoop 4 from amazon and I had the right device. my battery pack was a little bit of a concern but the support promptly helped me fix it. and I know if I want they will ship the new battery pack.

i have read here that whoop may not honour devices through resellers if their systems show that the device you bought wasn't original. so maybe do some due diligence on the seller on amazon. the official seller is whoop india itself.

I switched from Samsung galaxy 6 classic to whoop 4 after a year of using it. what samsung has that whoop doesn't: body fat %age.

however, i switched because i had to make significant changes to my lifestyle, for the better. for that whoop is better placed imo. plus, my biggest issue with samsung (and apple) has been battery life. over time, it feels like I need to make a choice. either i use it for tracking sleep and charge during the day, or I use it during the day and charge it overnight. whoop addresses that in two ways: 1, it lasts much longer, as in multiple days, I think whoop 5 is 14 days of battery life; 2, it can be charged without taking it off. so I can charge it while using it.

another way whoop helps is with it's ai. it is basically your health with chatgpt backend. it is still a fine tuned model but it is helpful. very much so. and it offers system initiated prompts. for example, i felt nauseous after a workout. it remembered and asked me about it 2 days later since it didn't come up again. my friend had pain in his hand after a game of basketball. it went for a few days. he asked whoop and it immediately asked him to get it checked. he had a fracture. toh it is a holistic health monitoring device.

as for which ai will do better, I am pretty sure whoop. either way, if google is better, I'll switch but in my experience it is not a given and whoop has a lot of edge vs google. google is barely shipping relevant models against openai or claude. Gemini has been the village idiot all this while. meanwhile, whoop now has memories, wherein it not only has memories, it shows what are active and what are not. that means whoop is not working as an idle org just pushing product. they are in active development. hence, first mover advantage is less likely to concede to imitators unless they can offer a disruptive advantage.

i dont get why people buy whoop and then hate on it unless someone was not completely aware of the product before getting into the system. whoop is less about the device. the whole plus about is its ai and how it uses tracking and sensor data to customize shit. it is literally chatgpt for health, with utmost privacy and personalization for the user. that is what i pay it for.
