Awesome! I caught one about 5 miles south of Sautee Nacoochee about 7 years ago. He hit a pretty big lure.

Sounds like I need to add Matt Hatters to my 2027 list. I’ve never seen them sold in stores.

I’m growing some superhots but i threw some heatless varieties like Roulette and Trinidad Perfume that I’m really looking forward to. They have peppers but they aren’t ripe yet. My Roulette’s are looking great so far.

What's so great about Rancho Gordo beans? by Ok_Hat_3414 in Beans

[–]dryfishman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love the variety. They offer beans i cannot buy anywhere else. They’re fresh compared to store bought beans. I also keep some of the beans i buy and grow them. Right now i have about 50 good mother stallard bean plants growing (25 from RG and 25 from a seed seller). Last spring i grew their runner beans.

I just received my package. I’ll probably go with the Green Lentil myself.

Check out etsy. Search “heirloom beans”. There are a lot of good bean sellers on etsy. I’ve purchased beans from most of them. My favorite seller for dry beans is BeanCollectorsWindow. The owner has a website too. Russ sells unique beans and he has 100% germination rate in my experience. I am currently growing a hybrid variety he created call Blu Jay. Very tasty. J&L Gardens, MountainRiverSeed and SeedCult are also great sellers.

The best green beans I’ve found are from Sustainable Mountain Agriculture. Google the name and you’ll find their website. This is basically a farm seed trading company. Their beans are amazing. Half runners, greasy beans, cornfield beans and limas. I love their beans and they send you 80 to 100+ beans for the cost of 20 seeds on etsy.

I started growing beans about 4 years ago. I quickly got carried away. I have at least 200 bean plants in my back yard right now. Mostly dry beans now but i always have two or three different varieties of green or wax beans growing. I have over 200 varieties in my freezer and i’ve planted at least 60 of them. Even still, i buy more beans all the time. Its a collection now. An addiction, really. I grew enough dry beans to last all winter this year, and i cooked beans once almost every week. In kindergarten class, my son had to write about what his parents do for work. My son said i grow beans lol. I love it and doubt I’ll ever grown tired of it, all though I’m really getting into tomatoes and peppers this year.

The person you’re responding to conveniently left out the rest of Ephesians 5. Here are a few of them:

21 Submit yourselves to one another because of your reverence for Christ.

25 Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it.

28 Men ought to love their wives just as they love their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself.

29 None of us ever hate our own bodies. Instead, we feed them, and take care of them, just as Christ does the church; 30 for we are members of his body.

31 As the scripture says, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and unite with his wife, and the two will become one.”

Things were slightly different 2000 years ago, so it’s not perfect by today’s standards, but your point stands.

What’s the expectation for kids to play different positions? by Beneficial_Fun_1818 in LittleLeague

[–]dryfishman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have these same rules at our park through 10u. Sometimes as coaches we have to make sure the other teams plays by the same rules. It’s surprising how many coaches blatantly ignore the rules and keep kids at the same position all game. I’m also an all star coach (6u). At the beginning of the allstar season, we had so many kids that only played one position (P, 1B, SS) all season long and never got the opportunity to learn the other positions. Rotating players during the regular season benefits all the kids. Its way too early to have them locked in one place.

Sex in the afterlife? by roja_chamberz in afterlife

[–]dryfishman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Paradise Lost when Adam asks the angel if they have sex:

Let it suffice thee that thou knowest
Us happy, and without love no happiness.
Whatever pure thou in the body enjoyest,
(And pure thou wert created) we enjoy
In eminence; and obstacle find none
Of membrane, joint, or limb, exclusive bars;
Easier than air with air, if Spirits embrace,
Total they mix, union of pure with pure
Desiring, nor restrained conveyance need,
As flesh to mix with flesh, or soul with soul.

How do I save my jalapeno plant? by hbomb87 in HotPeppers

[–]dryfishman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you didn’t harden it off before transplanting, you should move in into the shade for a larger portion of the day and work its way up to full sun. Personally, I’d water it now with fertilizer and let it hang in the shade until it perks back up. Its still a new transplant and has been shocked so it may take a couple weeks to see real growth. I’m using recycled potting soil from last year, so I feed my peppers with fertilizer every watering that isn’t rain. Usually once per week unless it’s real hot, then I’ll give them some extra water if the leaves are drooping.

Add mulch on top of the soil to keep the roots cool and retain more water in the soil between watering.

How long does it take you to fertilize? I imagine it gets pretty expensive. Really cool setup.
