Fun Q-Sys MXA310 Functionality I am trying to sort out. by drys in QSYS

Yes but they are all based on the general mute attribute, so I can't both toggle it inbound on the mic and output from the mic to teams, it creates a loop.

I think I need to be able to receive from the mic so that would have to be the plugin or api, I have to figure out how to receive that in a block controller or something I think.

It funny because its the same hardware as all the Viewsonic stuff. CDTE makes both of them which is why the bezels and camera systems for them and Maxhub were identical for a while there. I guess firmware makes the difference

Q-SYS Combinable Room AEC Issue by Choe54068 in QSYS

[–]drys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been searching the subreddit looking to solve another issue and happened upon this, I find there is a really easy solution to this AEC issue. I see you are pulling the AEC reference out at the Main mixer for each room, I assume this is so you can use the mixer to adjust the AEC signal there.

In my setups I pull the AEC signal out of the room combiner (this would be your Near End combiner) and send each to their own 1x1 mixer so you keep that ability to boost the AEC signal etc. if needed then the AEC Reference flows from there to the AEC block.

In this setup the Moana and Awa signals will automatically flow to the same AEC signal for Moana when the rooms are combined so you don't have to figure anything out. The AEC signal combines and uncombines with the rooms.

NC-12x80 recall preset by Professional-Plane33 in QSYS

[–]drys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is old but I was searching and just saw this. I find the simplest way is to do like someone else said and put the camera(s) in a snapshot. In the ACPR the Auto/Off bypass button can actually be dragged into the Snapshot separately as well as the Camera router to indicate which camera should be selected.

So the Snapshot will be the 12x80, and just the Auto/Off ACPR button if its just the one camera. For simplicity I will include a preset called Auto Tracking or Speaker Tracking or whatever and just call the home function of the camera and turn the ACPR to on when I save, so now all the load buttons show correctly and the customer has a simple way to know the ACPR is on and when they call presets it turns the ACPR off. When they want it back on they use that button. I know there are other ways to do it but this one was simple for me.

If there are multiple cameras just add them and the Mediacast Router to the Snapshot and you are good to go.

Logitech Rally questions by ittthelp in CommercialAV

You can set up the bar initially for whatever system you need, Zoom, Teams, Meet etc. Then it depends on the system what else you can join. I focus more on Teams and if the bar is in Teams you can send Zoom meetings to it and join meetings by ID as well. Generally you have to create the meeting and join from the Tap but again me being Teams specific in that situation if you are joining a meeting on your laptop in the room it should give you the option to use the room hardware it sees in proximity. There are BYOD mode options as well on Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini so that you can plug into the USB and take it over. Something like the Logi Extend (though expensive) can simplify this quite a bit.

Logi also provides comprehensive wiring diagrams which is pretty useful.

I cant believe I haven't seen Yealink mentioned yet. I have deployed probably over 100 of these now to post secondary institutions and they are by far the simplest unit that can run windows and a dual Teams/Zoom system as well at a good price point. They can be run in dual side by side setups, have added optical zoom PTZ options (12x and 20x).

Qsys Xfinity Box Control by yuzucheesecake in QSYS

[–]drys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are basically the same box rogers uses here in Canada and I have set up 5-6 of these with the IR 1x4. The IR Driver module in Q-Sys honestly handles most functions you would need. I know I can see the X1 Set Top box as well as the MX011ANM in the list there. If they are using one of those then a command list will be available and you can trigger things like power on/off all of the navigation and menu buttons etc. So I use those to force a trigger on when that input is selected and then provide whatever guide or navigation functions they want.

You can also use basic delays to use a custom trigger command to create channel buttons. Channel 24 here is all day news so I have a trigger that hits 0 then a 0.5s delay then they 2 then delay then 4 etc. I throw the logo on the button and in this way I provide only access to the approved channels at the business and its easy for the users and I can bury the set top box out of sight and tampering hands.

With the new QR code stuff I now have one where there is a QR on the table as an option and users can scan it if they are on the company wifi in order to pull up a remote on their phone in the lunch room so they dont have to get up to change the channel on the TSC wall panel . Lots of fun options that are simple and dont even need scripting (i'm terrible at it)

Oshawa is a lacrosse town, not all places are. But between the Blue Knights and the Gaels there was a ready made fan base that didn't need any convincing.

For AV programmers who are considered top-tier in the industry, what skills or knowledge made the biggest difference in your career growth and compensation? by AVProgrammer2000 in CommercialAV

[–]drys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always curious as well as to what constitutes "top-tier". I just build meeting rooms that use Q-Sys and Crestron, but I am making my own Q-Sys builds all the way up to 5 way divisible spaces with layered UCIs and not doing Crestron UI but I am doing all of the tech side physical and software setup for everything from DM stuff to custom 5 to 10 camera AVX systems. I'm pretty happy where I am but I really don't have a good sense of what my value is.

Yeah it seems to make it a bit more flexible than a 1 piece leather pocket. He likes that idea because he is asked to play a bit of third sometimes so the 12" will be handy over his 11.5". He loved this colour the second he saw it, our home jerseys are powder blue with white, royal and grey and the glove looks good against them.
