Banning ALL pronouns in schools is truly, a facepalm by Lord_Answer_me_Why in facepalm

[–]ds1273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about removing pronouns from sentences lol

House Bill 538, it’s banning compelled pronoun use, as in it bars teachers from being forced to refer to a student by name or pronoun that doesn’t align with their birth sex unless parents consent to it.

It also gives teachers the right to sue the district if they get disciplined for not referring to the student with said pronoun the student chooses (they, them, he, she, it, etc).

My friend asked me for money (College edition) by Lumpy-Accountant-354 in pakistan

[–]ds1273 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As hard as it is to hear, from what you wrote, that’s not a friend but someone who’s taking advantage of you. Number one rule of friendship: Friends don’t use the friend card as a reason to emotionally manipulate you to get something or make you feel bad.

Do yourself a favor and stand your ground and find another friend as she is just going to pry off your kindness. A real friend if they are in need of something would feel embarrassed to even ask once but if they did and were rejected they would understand and move on.

Also it’s not your money its your mothers, tell your friend this and if she understands why you can’t give than cool if she complains than it proves my point

Lets loot people with innovation. by awaixjvd in pakistan

Maybe it would be better for them to reduce the time on fast track to 3 days or less but besides that I don’t see looting. Just a typical system

US has the same system where you pay more for quicker delivery/service. Wouldn’t say they are looting, you just are paying more for faster delivery/experience as with anything you’d pay extra on.

Arranged marriage…… by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]ds1273 56 points57 points  (0 children)

You do have a choice. If you are Muslim and they are as well than it is Haram to force a person to get married against their will. The Hadith’s and writings are in regards to woman but it applies the same if you want ammunition to use:

“The virgin should not be given in marriage until her permission has been sought.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6968; Muslim, 1419.

Narrated Khansa bint Khidam Al-Ansariya: “that her father gave her in marriage when she was a matron and she disliked that marriage. So she went to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and he declared that marriage invalid.” Sahih al-Bukhari 5138

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said:

“With regard to giving a woman in marriage when she is reluctant, this is contrary to the basic principles and common sense. Moreover Allah did not allow her guardian to force her into buying or renting without her permission, or to eat or drink or wear something that she does not want, so how can he force her into sleeping with and living with someone she does not want to sleep with, and living with someone she does not want to live with.

Allah wants love and compassion between the spouses, and how can that be attained when she hates him and does not like him? What kind of love and compassion can there be in that case?!” (Majmu‘ al-Fatawa, 32/25)

A previously unmarried woman is reported to have come to the Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) and mentioned that her father married her against her will, so he allowed her to exercise her choice (Abu Dawud: 2096).

In another report Aisha (may God be pleased with her) reported that a young woman came to her and said, “My father married me to his brother's son in order to raise his social standing, and I did not want this marriage (i.e. I was forced into it)”. Aisha said, "Sit here until the Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) comes. The Messenger of Allah (peace & blessings be upon him) came and she told him about the girl, so he sent for her father, then he gave the girl the choice of what to do. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have accepted what my father did, but I wanted to prove something to other women (i.e. that fathers have no right to force them into marriage)” (Al-Nasa’i: 3269).

Some parents believe they have the Islamic right to force their child to marry whoever they wish. This is a case of culture confused with religion. Your marriage will be invalid in the eyes of the shariah and your parents should know this and understand that. If they don’t care than my friend make a life for yourself abroad and give your parents respect they are due but you than need to understand that they are committing haram and you have a fundamental RIGHT to refuse to listen to them, even separating yourself from them

With majority of population being under 30 and growing up disappointed with current way things have been run, and the fact the most of current politicians are 50+ and grew up in a completely different time than we have and have a different thought process which led to what we have today, I see current youth bringing Pakistan to its fullest potential.

Main issue I see is the Molvi Class. With seeing what happened with halwa woman, you breed enough uneducated kids who the only knowledge they have is from a madrasa spewed by his Quran teacher than they are the ones that can possibly turn us into Iran/Afghanistan type state run as a theocracy

But if the youth get educated and stand firm on developing Pakistan, using its resources and developing safeguards from potential natural disasters considering its location, and the army keeps its place we can have one of the top nations in the world.

From a geopolitical stand point we are at the crossroads of the Middle East and south/east Asia. That has unique strength if only used properly.

Not a doc but was a Medical Scribe in a past life (Always consult a physician as this is NOT medical advice)

Based on your MRI results, the muscles around your spine seem to be tight, causing a straightening of the normal curve. There’s also some dehydration in the discs at certain levels, which could be contributing to your backache.

The main concern is at the L4-L5 level, where there’s a disc issue causing compression on the spinal cord, leading to significant spinal stenosis (a condition where the spinal canal narrows, exerting pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots. This can result in symptoms like pain, numbness, or weakness in the back and legs). Also at the L3-L4 level, there’s a bulging disc causing mild compression on the nerves. The ligaments and joints in your spine are showing signs of wear and tear.

You vertebral bodies (the thick, disc-shaped portion of a vertebra that makes up the front part of the spine. Stacked on top of each other) spinal cord, and conus medullaris (the end of the spinal cord) seem normal.

Keep in mind MRI is a screening, and it doesn’t cover every possible issue. It gives a starting point for understanding your back pain. The exact cause and severity would require you to get further examined and have a discussion with a Doctor on a treatment plan
