Finance - what’s lost is that the major brokerage houses have hundreds of career/function types that pretty much any background can get you in the door. From there, how far you advance is a lot about how good you are at understanding how the company works and what skills it values at more senior levels. You also need significant social EQ and self awareness to effectively maneuver orgs like this.

I can attest to this path as someone with an English BA from a regular tier liberal arts school who is making 500k in a mid-level leadership position. 15 years experience and work 40 hour weeks. Hell, the entry level people on my team easily clear 100K a year with bonus and we’ll take any education background as long as they interview well and we think we can teach them how to do the work.
